Escape Hatch (Falcon & Winter Soldier, gen, 10K wds)
"You need to listen to me," Zemo said. "I've been sent to kill you, Sam. There is a bomb in my back. I think we can safely say—" He smiled briefly, humorlessly, at their horrified expressions. "—That the mission did not go as planned."
Just your basic (mostly) fake betrayal with an implanted bomb. As you do.
Beads on a String (Falcon & Winter Soldier, gen, 14K wds)
When Wakanda pulls Zemo out of the Raft and sends him on a mission, Ayo is tasked with being his handler. But there is more to it than either of them knows.
I nabbed this one as a pinch hit, because the "Ayo working with Zemo" prompt was so compelling and I really enjoyed working both character arcs around that. Ayo's POV is really fun to write, plus bonus Wakandan worldbuilding.

First, my assignment:

Tiny mammoths ... IN SPACE. (It occurs to me that the description makes it sound like what they got was a sex toy. It definitely is not.)

There were those who believed Olympe could summon wolves at her command, and snakes and roaches as well. She only laughed at this. It would be very convenient if she had been given a wolf-servant to do her bidding, instead of being afflicted with an unpredictable wolf-policeman with his own allegiances, bent about his own business and prying into hers for reasons of his own.
I've written for this recipient before (sadlikeknives), and they always request werewolf!Shaw but I've never written it, so this seemed like a good year to do that.
And then I wrote some treats:

Roleswap AU: Sam and Bucky are Zemo's parolees. Zemo inconveniently gets himself stabbed. Perfect escape opportunity! Or not. Inspired by a discussion on the Winterbaron discord about an AU in which Zemo is Sam & Bucky's handler.
Trust Fall (6700 wds, Sam & Zemo, gen)
Sam is stranded in the wilderness with a concussion. He knows he can trust the person with him. He just isn't quite sure who that is or why he's so sure of it. Based on the "person with amnesia automatically decides they can trust their worst enemy" Tumblr post. IDFIC AHOY.
Tropical Heat (2600 words, Sam/Zemo, mature-rated)
Sunburn and sensation play. Quite possibly the only instance of sunburn kink on AO3.
Cannonball Run (700 words, mostly Bucky & Zemo, gen)
They had split up for entirely practical reasons. He'd had a job to do, and he had done it, but he was the one who was careless enough to be knifed in the side. A random smidge of feelsy action-based h/c.
The Land Gives Up Its Dead (2800 words, Sam & Bucky & Zemo, gen)
It was in Riga that Sam first saw what Zemo could do. Sam-POV urban fantasy AU in which Sokovian nobility are necromancers.

Zemo has a ritual after a fight. Bucky notices. For a prompt about Zemo having something he does to honor his lost squadmates.
Rocks Fall, Roll To Dodge (1800 words, Sam & Bucky & Zemo)
Snowed in a hostel in the mountains, there's nothing to do except dig through the dusty old books and board games. For a prompt about the three of them playing D&D.

Sam accidentally unlocks a Zemo cheat code. Pure idfic.

So yeah, that was fun! Next year apparently it's moving to spring - not 2022; spring 2023 - to avoid running into Yuletide season as it did this year, which might affect my ability to participate, but I'll see! I've really enjoyed it the last couple of years.

WE STILL HAVE NOT DECORATED THE TREE. We set it up on Thursday. This is becoming a travesty. I plan to get some ornaments hung tonight. On the other hand, having a bare spruce tree obtained from our own place is kind of pleasantly pagan for the solstice, I guess?
Speaking of such things, I accidentally plotbunnied myself with the idea of Zemo as a Sokovian genius loci/spirit-of-place. It's just such an interestingly fitting idea and full of angsty possibilities having to do with the destruction of the country.
I also posted a TFATWS Christmas story featuring the usual suspects.

Zemo is poisoned with a hallucinogen while undercover with Sam and Bucky. This was for the tag prompt "Character Forced to Relive Their Worst Memory." Look, I have a brand.
Underground (Justified, 3200 wds, Rachel & Raylan & Tim)
An ill-advised attempt is made to pursue a suspect into a haunted mine. This is probably the most actually horror-ish of what I wrote, and can also be read without canon knowledge, I feel - all you really need to know is that they're US Marshals in Kentucky.
Katabasis (The Alienist, 8900 wds, gen or pre-OT3)
Set after season one, the characters try to fix a canonical character death using Flatliners-style methods. This is exactly as great an idea as it sounds like.

Funny story behind this one. So, I was assigned torachelmanija and we matched on either Sam/Bucky or Punisher. I ended up defaulting, but then when I realized I had a gift anyway (which was AMAZING and you all need to read immediately if Falcon & Winter Soldier is your thing) I wanted to write SOMETHING, so I started writing this as a treat for my original recip. I ran out of time to finish, so I shelved it about 2K into the story, but then a very last-minute pinch hit showed up and, as it turned out, this fit their request even better - it couldn't have been better timed, honestly! So basically the end result was as if I'd never dropped out at all; I got a very nice present and I wrote a very similar story to what I would probably have written if I'd stayed in.

The general consensus was that it should be a mink or some sort of similar mustelid, and he would be very very soft.
... yeah, so for a day or so I was sendingscioscribe and rachelmanija snippets of mink!Zemo in email, and now you can read them too. So here's 2000 words of Zemo being a mink, in two different scenes that I guess connect in the same fic somewhere.
