Summary: There's something killing people in the swamps behind Sam's childhood home. And he and Bucky are going on a hunting expedition.

rachelmanija and we matched on either Sam/Bucky or Punisher. I ended up defaulting, but then when I realized I had a gift anyway (which was AMAZING and you all need to read immediately if Falcon & Winter Soldier is your thing) I wanted to write SOMETHING, so I started writing this as a treat for my original recip. I ran out of time to finish, so I shelved it about 2K into the story, but then a very last-minute pinch hit showed up and, as it turned out, this fit their request even better - it couldn't have been better timed, honestly! So basically the end result was as if I'd never dropped out at all; I got a very nice present and I wrote a very similar story to what I would probably have written if I'd stayed in.
