Proof of life that I am writing something other than B5! I've been posting these short prompt ficlets on Tumblr and was waiting until I had stacked up enough to do a cumulative post here.

(And yeah, I realize realistically, the fandom is basically dead and currently consists of like 2-3 people and a shoelace, but I'll wander out in my own time as usual.)

2. Sexy use of medieval weapons

Prompt: I read the bit in 'Looks Back' where EvS suggests making use of the medieval weaponry decorating the castle and Biggles protests they're not in his line and they 'debate the efficiency of lethal instruments'- and now I'm taken with the image of their finding themselves in another situation where Erich does come to Biggles's defence/aid with the medieval weaponry closest to hand in whatever manor or castle they've gotten into a scrape in this time… with Biggles also being rather taken with the image, enough to perhaps ...amend his stance somewhat to include his usual notable exception (Erich wielding a sword and shield he snatched off the wall makes a compelling argument)

I wrote a few things lately that I haven't posted about here:

Every Silver Lining (Biggles, gen, 3200 wds)
For an absolutely delightful prompt in H/C Fest (full prompt inside). Biggles & Co. are recuperating at a small local clinic after a mission. And they're not the only ones.

So this was written for H/C Fest and unfortunately the timing on it meant that it dropped into the flurry of Yuletide and other anonymous holiday fic and vanished. (It just de-anoned today.) But the prompt was absolute catnip. The prompter wrote:

You've heard of "there was only one bed" & "Canadian shack", now get ready for... "there was only one medic" & "local clinic"!

Biggles & Co. end up at a small local clinic to recuperate from a mission. Unfortunately there's nowhere else to go in the area for medical care, and they're not the only ones who got a bit walloped. This is just a pure indulgent festival of iddy hurt/comfort, and I had a great time with it.

I also wrote a couple of Charles-and-Hawkeye-centric MASH episode tags last month:

• Perfect Fit (for 6x23 "Dr. Winchester and Mr. Hyde")
• Commiseration (for 9x20 "The Life You Save")

Both are a couple thousand words and gen (well, more gennish in the case of the last one), for episodes that needed more "c" to go with their "h".

Another thing I failed to post about: I did an informal fic exchange for Christmas with ysande, and I mentioned the thing I wrote, but not the thing I received!

Ysande's gift for me is Already Given (Biggles, gen, 5K), an absolutely LOVELY Christmas fic with an injured von Stalhein failing to realize that he can have home and safety and sanctuary at the Mount Street flat, but getting it anyway. ♥ ♥ ♥ I enjoyed it thoroughly and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I hope we'll get more than fandom things to be happy about in 2025, but starting off with a bouquet of fanfic is not the worst way to launch a new year.
