Arctic Light

I was tagged by black_bentley for this meme on Tumblr. (There's supposed to be a passing-it-along part that I'm not doing this time because that's the part that always gets me stuck on doing memes.) However, since I have a ton of WIPs right now, this is a nice opportunity to give the Biggles fandom a look at what I'm working on. All picked from the Biggles folder; I figured I'd branch out to my other 10,000 WIPs if I couldn't find all the words there, but I didn't need to.

Earlier this year I wrote Honey Trap, in which Erich's superiors sent him to seduce Biggles rather than kill him in the general Buries a Hatchet timeframe. And philomytha wrote the absolutely lovely sequel like a storm in the desert which I wholeheartedly approve and adore and 100% support. (I am always in favor of having sequels or missing scenes or remixes written for my fic, I love it, I welcome it, please do it. ♥)

In the in-between time, however, I had written (or at least started) two different versions of a sequel that I ended up sitting on and not quite sure what to do with, because Philomytha's was pretty much the exact same thing. I mean, first of all, Erich's mental state is pretty obvious at this point, and we basically share an id, and neither of these was really finished enough to post....

I was thinking for a while about maybe turning at least one of these into a completely new fic incorporating the elements I liked from this, but I didn't do that, so - here are the other sequel(s). (But please read Philomytha's, it's great!)

After a discussion recently about Biggles meeting kid!Fritz, I wrote a thing. Which appears to have no actual story to go with, so I'm posting it here until I figure out the rest of this? (Takes place somewhere between Takes a Holiday and In the Blue, probably in the late 40s-early 50s.)

One thing that wip_amnesty encourages people to do is to post the bits of the WIP that they have, and let it go. Mine either seem to fall into the category of having so little written that it's not worth doing that, or so much that I hate to abandon them completely, but I think that my NCIS/SGA crossover probably needs to be dusted off and sent packing. This story is kind of unique in that I had the plot pretty well mapped out, but never could get it to work -- it was a combination of not being able to get the NCIS characters' voices right, and floundering in a giant slog of canon research and incompatibility. I never could figure out which season of NCIS to put this in (I started writing it in season one, and just kind of tried to retrofit it to the various cast changes since then), and since it takes place on Earth and involves Goa'uld rather heavily, it required me to know a great deal more about SG1 canon than I actually know. I think the combination of struggling with the characters and facing large amounts of research made me throw up my hands in despair. I think I can now say with 100% certainty that I'm not going to be finishing this one.

So here are the snippets and plot outline for my one and only NCIS/SGA fic - a.k.a. the one in which Abby has the ATA gene, Rodney dies - sort of, and Gibbs gets to ride in a spaceship (and is exactly as happy about that as one might think).
