SSR Confidential 2022 is open for signups! This is the Agent Carter exchange I run, back for YEAR SEVEN.

The tagset comes prefilled with a basic collection of characters and relationships; please add any others that you would like to request or offer. I'll be approving tags as they come in, but you can also bring it to my attention that you've added some.

Tomorrow (March 30) is the last day of signups for ssrconfidential. I usually let it go overnight and close/run matching when I get up in the morning, so you can still sign up as long as it's March 30 anywhere.

Signups are notably down this year; it's usually somewhere in the mid-20s, but I only have 15 so far. (Note: this isn't meant to try to push anyone to sign up. Just an observation.) I was worried for a while that we might have so few that matching would be really difficult, but I think it'll be okay, especially since there's usually a small flurry of last-minute signups. If I end up with a bunch of people without matches, I might open it up again for a few days, but hopefully I won't need to.

Other things to sign up for:

con_solation is a vidshow for vid premieres that were derailed by all the con cancellations. I'm trying to finish one for it, though I need to light a fire under myself if I'm going to have it ready in time!

I wasn't going to do any more flash exchanges, but then THIS HAPPENED: Robot Rainbow - the latest of the color-themed exchanges, but this time with AI-generated paint colors.

Your title must contain one of our colors, but we will allow you to choose which one. They are all very good colors, so you should have no trouble making this work.

I am totally signing up for this. Signups open midweek and it runs through the weekend.

Iron Fist characters in pandemic lockdown. (I maintain that inflicting one's own suffering on fictional characters is a time-honored coping mechanism.)

I'm running Iron Fist Week on Tumblr this year from April 1-7, and writing short ficlets for it. I'd happily write one for anyone who wants to leave me an Iron-Fist-related prompt, if there's anything you'd like.

SSR Confidential 2019 is live, with 26 fanworks (fic, art, and vids). I haven't had time to check out mine yet, or dive into the archive, but I can't WAIT. It all looks great! Go, read, comment, enjoy. :D

kingofexchanges is a new exchange for Stephen King fandoms, modded by rachelmanija, scioscribe, and me. You can find the rules and info at the comm. Nominations will open on July 19. I'll post about it more as we get closer to time. Follow the comm for info!

And the Defenders prompt fest is still going on! Some new fills have been added. I'll put up a post for JJ3 spoiler prompts and fills a little later (as I expect not very many people have had a chance to watch it yet). I'm not going to be able to watch it for a little while, so I'm going to try to keep the spoilers away from the main post if possible at first, to make modding easier.

There's a pinch hit available for SSR Confidential. Multiple FF pairings.

... and I've put up a post soliciting input on scheduling and rule changes for this round over at the ssrconfidential comm. (Tumblr version.)

I've been pleased and delighted with the response to this fest; we've had enough new participants every year to make up for people dropping out, and last year we had the most fanworks we've ever had (42!).

Even earlier than expected. :) For the most part, it was an unusually smooth matching process this year (helped vastly by one person being a total MVP for letting me game their signup to make the matches work better; THANK YOU). I also learned that if you run the matching algorithm multiple times, you actually get different matches even if you don't change anything, which is weird and counterintuitive, but I got better matches the second time than the first, so ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, if you have a problem with your assignment, please go ahead and contact me. Otherwise, you can follow ssrconfidential/ssrconfidential for games, discussion posts, help with prompts/brainstorming, and other fun stuff during the creation period.

I'm also looking for ideas for challenges or games to do while the exchange is running. Nothing would be mandatory; I'm just looking for fun things to do that might help keep interest up and enhance people's enjoyment of the exchange.

And I just discovered the Be the First challenge - for fandoms with absolutely no fic. It's not an exchange; you just pick an unloved fandom and sign up and go for it.

Would anyone like to leave some Agent Carter prompts for the SSR Confidential writers/artists/vidders? I just put up a prompt/inspiration post.

Anon commenting is turned on, but not required, though if you're participating in the exchange, it would be appreciated if you tried to avoid giving away TOO many clues about what you're working on.

You don’t have to be signed up for the exchange to leave prompts, and you can also use these for general inspiration – you don’t have to use them exclusively for SSR Confidential fanworks.

(And yes, I really should have done something like this a lot earlier if I was going to, but better late than never, right??)

Basically these are just asking for input on this year's schedule (tagset nominations in early March, signups in late March, fics due in early June - similar to last year) and a couple of potential rule changes.

On a completely other topic, I was in the school supplies aisle last night looking for a 2-pocket folder (this kind of thing) to replace the falling-apart one I've been using since middle school and don't really like anyway. Don't they have pretty ones anymore?? Do you guys remember all the different fashion folders we used to be able to get, with unicorns or cats or butterflies or whatever? Are those not a thing anymore? It was all solid-colored folders with a tiny handful of sports-themed ones. I wanted unicorns, dammit. :P They didn't even have very many colors. At least I was able to find a purple one.
