Arctic Light

One thing that happened in 2016 is that it's the year I learned to write short fics from prompts. I've always done it a little, but I was never that good at it. And then Tumblr happened. Now I'm going to have to start a new Agent Carter commentfic doc because my current one has 50K of fic in it (YES REALLY) and I can't find anything anymore!

Under the cut is a full list of all the commentfic/promptfic I wrote in 2016, from oldest to newest. Some of these ended up long enough to post individually to AO3, but are included because they were written for one of the prompt calls; there are also some "just for fun" ones that weren't actually for a prompt but weren't long enough or complete enough to go on AO3 as a standalone fic.

If you just want the most recent ones, I've been maintaining a running list since my last prompt call in July, so you can go here to read those. (The most recent one was added tonight: a Happy New Year ficlet.) I'll start a new list for 2017.

The Fandom Stockings are revealed! Mine is here and I got lots of lovely stuff -- pictures and ficlets and recs and greetings. I'm delighted with it. :D

I did not manage to get to all the stockings I wanted to fill this year, but I ended up writing a fair amount of stuff, though it's mostly unfinished snippets. Here's what I wrote this year:

btw, it is perfectly fine with me if people who aren't the recipient comment on these; I think it's perfectly fine, although you might wait 'til the recipient has a chance to comment first if they haven't yet. :D I would have posted some of them on AO3, but none are really finished enough to do that (and the only one which actually is a complete story, Veleda's story, has a major plot hole that needs to be fixed >_>).

I FINALLY posted a new chapter of the Sam and Bucky fall out of a plane into the Canadian wilderness fic. That only took ... four months. /o\ However, I'm writing again! It feels so good! I've been really, really blocked the last month or so -- not that I've written nothing, but I've definitely been stuck in a downward November apathy spiral. My energy levels seem to be coming back up now, though, and I'm hoping to be more productive over the last 3(!!) weeks of the year. And I'm going to try to finish this fic by the end of the year; having reviewed the h/c bingo rules (because of wanting to claim the partial fic I posted, as it was written for a bingo square) I realized that stories have to be complete to count, so I need to finish it for one of the bingos I'm working on!

Speaking of my bingo card, I'm only one square away from a straight-line bingo in a couple of directions, and only two squares away in EVERY direction. Still 11 squares to write if I want a blackout, though ... plus finishing up the "falling" square.

Meanwhile, I am so very behind on Christmas stuff. Help! Alert! BEARS! CHRISTMAS BEARS! I finally got all the shopping done (I think); tomorrow I plan to get everything wrapped and packed in boxes. It's at times like this that I consider offloading some family members. (I jest. I love my family. But why must they all live in different states half a continent away?!) I also really wanted to decorate this year and haven't done that yet either. BEARS!!!
