Murderbot 1x04
New episode is out already! At half an hour they are very bite-sized.
I think that might've been my favorite episode so far (despite the lack of Gurathin) - so tense and fast-paced and fun! I loved everyone around Murderbot getting to be active and brave this time. I don't know what happens in this part of the books - that is, technically I read the first book ages ago, but I only remember the broadest strokes of the plot, and I'm not sure how closely we're following it here. So I wasn't sure how they were going to end up dealing with the situation, either the "Murderbot taken over by literal killware" or the "killer SecUnit after them" parts of it. Arada and Pin-Lee landing the hopper on the enemy SecUnit was very satisfying.
Also completely fried SecUnit hallucinating itself into Sanctuary Moon! I like how the show handles Murderbot's use of TV as its means of interfacing with the emotional/social aspects of its world.
And the intro scene with the SecUnit factory! A++ deadpan black humor with the factory workers and Murderbot's casually unnerving voiceover.
I continue to have a good time. Someone on Tumblr described the show as an old-fashioned adventure serial, and it does feel like that. I don't generally feel like I have a lot to say about the episodes. They're just light and entertaining and fun.

I have one complaint, it was SO SHORT! I wish they were dropping two eps a week. My heart can't take it!
