The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] kho podficced my SGA story Devil & The Deep Blue Sea (McKay/Keller + John & Rodney friendship). It's a rather long story, so the first half of the podfic is available now; the second half is still being edited. :D Go, download, listen, comment!

Link to the podfic available here: http://kho.livejournal.com/920855.html

[livejournal.com profile] sga_santa is posting again! I've been really apathetic about SGA the last few months, but maybe having a slew of shiny new stories will help with that. And somewhere in there is one for me, and one by me. (Personally I think my story is blindingly obvious this year -- obvious fic is obvious! -- but I'm still curious if anyone guesses which one is mine.)

My story Another Day at the Office (Jeannie, Vala) has been podficced by [personal profile] juniperphoenix, available here. Thank you! <3

I am almost done with my holiday stories (just need to edit the [livejournal.com profile] sheppard_hc one). This has been a rather unusual year for me in that I've had a lot of time to write gift exchange fic, so I'm taking full advantage of it; now I'm turning my attention to doing a handful of Yuletide treats and stocking stuffers for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking. (I'm kind of torn on writing Yuletide treats early? On the one hand, I don't want to steal anybody's glory from their "official" story. But on the other hand, most of what I want to write is in tiny fandoms that have little-to-no fic, and I'm sure that getting two stories ina little bitty fandom would be nice for the recipient. But I certainly don't want to make anyone feel bad.)

First off, I wrote this small Whaleverse ficlet for [livejournal.com profile] naye (G, 1300 words, John/Rodney plus team and, of course, whales). THE CRACK, IT JUST WILL NOT STOP.

[livejournal.com profile] rheanna27 recorded my story Between the Lines as a podfic; here is the post at her journal with all relevant download information. If you like it, let her know how awesome she is! :D

And a couple of recs for good, and under-appreciated, SGA fic I've read lately, which I can't rec at genrec because it isn't gen:

Throwing out your frown and just smiling at the sound by [livejournal.com profile] less_star (John/OMC, John & Rodney friendship) - [livejournal.com profile] less_star wrote this as a bonus-round fic for one of my prompts in [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa, and it's really delightful. I love the sense of weariness and resignation that pervades the story, as John struggles to acknowledge the idea that he could actually be happy; it's a wonderful John piece as well as a nice friendship story.

A Moment Out of Time by [livejournal.com profile] skinscript (John/Rodney/Elizabeth, tag for Adrift/Lifeline) - This is really a gorgeous look at Elizabeth's sense of dislocation in her new nanite-enhanced body, and I loved how the characters' closeness and connection to each other comes through.

Um ... fannish etiquette question for the room. I just received a (really lovely) comment on one of my older stories, and looking back on it, I realized that I never answered a lot of the feedback on that story, going back to spring 2007.

What is a conscientious fan to do? I certainly don't want to leave the new comment unanswered, but I'm trying to figure out if it's less polite to answer one comment without answering them all, or to send feedback for comments that people left *two years ago*, some of whom have probably moved on to other fandoms by now ...

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] purimgifts is open for sign-ups! I thought this looked terribly fun last year, but had too many other fannish commitments to manage it. This year, I'm eyeing it with interest; it's a multi-fandom, ficfest gift-a-thon. Explanation and rules post here; signups are here.

The podfic of my story "Even Bonnie and Clyde Had Off Days" is now available as a podbook made by [livejournal.com profile] cybel from [livejournal.com profile] winkingstar's recording. People are so kind. :)
