More fandom stuff

[livejournal.com profile] sga_santa is posting again! I've been really apathetic about SGA the last few months, but maybe having a slew of shiny new stories will help with that. And somewhere in there is one for me, and one by me. (Personally I think my story is blindingly obvious this year -- obvious fic is obvious! -- but I'm still curious if anyone guesses which one is mine.)

My story Another Day at the Office (Jeannie, Vala) has been podficced by [personal profile] juniperphoenix, available here. Thank you! <3

I am almost done with my holiday stories (just need to edit the [livejournal.com profile] sheppard_hc one). This has been a rather unusual year for me in that I've had a lot of time to write gift exchange fic, so I'm taking full advantage of it; now I'm turning my attention to doing a handful of Yuletide treats and stocking stuffers for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking. (I'm kind of torn on writing Yuletide treats early? On the one hand, I don't want to steal anybody's glory from their "official" story. But on the other hand, most of what I want to write is in tiny fandoms that have little-to-no fic, and I'm sure that getting two stories ina little bitty fandom would be nice for the recipient. But I certainly don't want to make anyone feel bad.)

I hadn't realized before this year how much bitter debate there is over Yuletide treats! Personally, I'm of the school of thought that thinks the more treats, the better, especially given how small most of these fandoms are. But clearly there are a fair number of people who feel differently.

My impression is that there are more "more is better" people than the other kind, so I'd say go ahead and write your treats. Yes, some people won't be happy if their recipient receives a second story off the same prompt they wrote, but lots of others will be thrilled because it gives them something to read in a rare fandom they like too.

I have a couple of letters bookmarked for possible treat writing, once I finish my main story. Sadly, I don't have an abundance of time this year, but things should get better once the grading is done.

Huh. I would also think 1 story = good, 2 stories = even better. Especially in a fandom where there are only like five fics altogether. I mean, even if I was the writer of the regular yt story, it means I'd get something new to read as well. Everybody wins.
