Arctic Light

For the sake of simplicity I'm just copying some of this out of Wordpress and pasting it as rich text while making my author-blog post on the same topic. Hopefully the formatting doesn't bork too badly. BTW, I also posted some Alaska pictures over at the realname blog.

So these are my 2020 books! I've got a few things on sale or free this week, and some things perma-free. (As always, absolutely no obligation to buy/download. Most links go to Amazon. Free stuff is on BookFunnel.) I'm going to take a break from the weekly mailing list short stories for the first few months of 2021, and resume in probably May or so ... but most likely not weekly; that's turning out to be overkill, and a lot of extra work for me.

Another thing I've discovered about the weekly stories is that readers have a strong preference for stories that are short - small enough to past into an email, preferably around 1500 words or less - but also react very badly to stories that don't read as complete. So most of the stories I had intended to use for this are actually sub-optimal; they're either too long, or snippets of something that was meant to be longer. It might work better to just write a flashfic a month or so, specifically intended for the mailing list, if I want to keep doing it. I'll see how 2021 goes.
