Star Trek '09 insta-rec
May. 23rd, 2009 10:04 pmStill spamming my f'list! And I totally owe answers to everyone who replied to my last couple of meta-posts, but I just had to drop this NuTrek rec (though judging by the number of comments on it, I may be the last person who hasn't read it yet):

This -- I nearly *died* laughing. I don't think I'd consciously realized, until reading this, that the vast majority of Trek fic is usually so serious and so concerned with Important Matters; even when it's humorous fic, it's light goofy humor that doesn't make the characters look like dorks. This, though? It's totally in the style of the screwier sort of SGA fic (well, minus people turning into penguins and sunflowers and such), with the characters being a bunch of bickering, semicompetent misfits who are, uh, totally in character for their movie versions. This is so utterly perfect for how New!Kirk would run his Enterprise. Poor Federation, they don't know what they're in for.
