The Decade in Fandom (2010-2019)

Just for fun.

This isn't everything that I enjoyed by any means, but it's sort of an overview of what I was (for the most part) writing fanfic about in any given year.

( I bet I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff )

End-of-year ficpocalypse (all Iron Fist)

I posted several fics over the last couple of days, for exchanges and to finish up some 2019 things before the year rolls over.

A Hundred Thousand Miles (Colleen-centric plus the rest of the cast, 5K words)
Colleen deals with being far away from Danny on New Year’s. But maybe it’s not that far after all, and she’s not as alone as she thought.

Starting in 2016, I've gotten in the habit of writing something for New Year's - a ficlet in whatever fandom I'm currently enthusiastic about, set on New Year's, posted on New Year's, often written on New Year's. They often serve as little time-capsule snapshots of where I was, emotionally, that year. This is the one for this year, and the longest so far - they started out as tiny ficlets slammed out late on New Year's eve, but have grown into actual stories. This one also continues the Colleen & Joy reconnection that started in Silver in the City.

Be All Right For Another Night (Iron Fist/Captain Marvel crossover, 8500 wds)
Five years after the Kree invasion, three orphaned kids poke through the ruins of what used to be upstate New York.

This is a "what if the Kree invaded in 1995?" AU that I wrote last fall and then never posted for, idk, reasons. Anyway, this is the Iron Fist corner of that AU (Carol and Monica also appear) but I've thought about what would be going on in other parts of the MCU as well, and may eventually write some more stories set in this 'verse.

Light in Darkness (between seasons, Ward & Danny, 10K words)
Ward is kidnapped by a Hand splinter group.

My exchange fic for the Daredevil & Defenders New Years Exchange, which were just revealed! My recipient really loves Ward and also likes h/c and angst. Me: I could write a sensitive portrait of Ward's state of mind between seasons, orrrrrr I could write 10K of Ward being tortured by the Hand (and also himself).

And Be Still (between seasons, Ward & Danny, 3K)
Harold was an asshole.

Inspired by a wonderful/terrible suggestion on Tumblr: what if Ward has actually been killed and brought back at least once (by Harold), and he doesn't know?

And now I need to go read my own gift in DD-Ex, which looks amazing.
