First off, I wrote this small Whaleverse ficlet for naye (G, 1300 words, John/Rodney plus team and, of course, whales). THE CRACK, IT JUST WILL NOT STOP.

And a couple of recs for good, and under-appreciated, SGA fic I've read lately, which I can't rec at genrec because it isn't gen:

Throwing out your frown and just smiling at the sound by less_star (John/OMC, John & Rodney friendship) - less_star wrote this as a bonus-round fic for one of my prompts in sga_santa, and it's really delightful. I love the sense of weariness and resignation that pervades the story, as John struggles to acknowledge the idea that he could actually be happy; it's a wonderful John piece as well as a nice friendship story.

A Moment Out of Time by skinscript (John/Rodney/Elizabeth, tag for Adrift/Lifeline) - This is really a gorgeous look at Elizabeth's sense of dislocation in her new nanite-enhanced body, and I loved how the characters' closeness and connection to each other comes through.

Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic writing/etc. in general.

Just one question, please, but it can have sub-parts. Right, so I'm having too much fun and I'm changing the rules - you can ask as many questions as you like, just wait for me to answer a question before asking a new one, and please post it as a new comment rather than a reply to another comment, to avoid confusion.

Question can be as wacky as you want. Ask me about tv shows, characters, fanfic in general, fandom issues/meta, anything about any of my stories specifically. Whatever you want.

If it's a fandom-specific question, you can ask me about anything I'm familiar with ... SGA being my big fandom, of course, but anything you know I've seen is fine (Being Human, Supernatural, NCIS, SG1, TOS/AOS, LotR, Life on Mars, Doctor Who/Torchwood, older fandoms like Invisible Man, Quantum Leap, Forever Knight, various anime and manga including Saiyuki, Bleach, DBZ, FMA, Trigun, etc, etc). There are lots of good questions at penknife's LJ ... not that I'm saying "Go crib comments!" *g* but if you need inspiration of what sort of things to ask about, there are some good examples.
