Fic I wrote for the Biggles exchange

If the theme of my (lovely!) gifts was Erich Deserves Nice Things, the theme of 3 out of 4 of the ones *I* wrote was "Biggles deserves a drugged and delirious spy in his bed." You know, as one does.

The odd one out, but also very fun to write, was my actual assignment:

Violet Revolution (Biggles & EvS, 1400 wds, gen)
In which Biggles decides to give Erich a houseplant as a flatwarming present to welcome him to London, and this turns out to be a slippery slop to Way More Houseplants and also settling in and making London his new home. <3

And the rest, which turned out to be variations on a theme:

Friend of My Friend (Biggles/EvS gennish ship, 1500 wds)
In which Biggles comes back from a solo mission to discover the flat in disarray, everyone wildly glad to see him, and a feverish EvS in his bedroom.

Circumstantial (Biggles/EvS, 6700 wds)
In which Erich is arrested and interrogated on suspicion of involvement with a Soviet spy ring in London, and Biggles is Very Unhappy about this.

Trust and Charity (EvS & Algy, 3800 wds)
In which Algy, grounded with a minor injury, is tasked to his dismay with looking after a drugged EvS.

From Biggles in Mexico:

EvS: How are your three able assistants?
Biggles: They’re very well, thanks. I think they miss you. Life has been rather dull for them since you came over to our side of the fence.

Oh yeah, THEY miss you, life's been very dull for THEM. I bet they say to him ten times a day: Biggles, I really miss the days when Erich was trying to kill us. It's so boring now.

I also really love how they both ask after each other's loved ones in this conversation. It's such a genuinely sweet interaction. I had somehow misremembered that Biggles in Mexico was several books after Hatchet, with some adventures in between, but actually it's the very next one. I love that Biggles does leave him alone for a bit to settle in on his own - but also stays away for the absolute bare minimum length of time that he possibly could, given publication schedules. It could be months later, but it could be no more than weeks.
