Oh look, I wrote the blood loss fic after all! Unbeta'd, pure idfic. This is a tag/missing scene (or rather, a series of them) for my earlier WC fic "Courier" (LJ / DW / AO3). But if you haven't read that one, you can probably read this as a series of snippets from a random White Collar field mission gone wrong. Title is from Emily Dickinson.
Title: the tune without the words
Fandom: White Collar
Pairing/rating: PG/gen
Word Count: 1000

Fannish stuff
Aug. 19th, 2011 03:13 pmFor those of you who are still reading a) SGA and b) McKay/Sheppard, I pinch-hit for
mcshep_match this year. Stories are being posted anonymously, 2 per day (they're just getting started and still have a ways to go), and somewhere in there is a McKay/Sheppard fic by me. Should you manage to guess which one (... I have no clue how obvious it is) I'll write a little thinglet for you. :)
Does anyone have suggestions for knitting/creative/craft communities on either LJ or DW? I already discovered
knitting. (Actually, I think I've found most of the ones on DW by searching interests.) Really, I'm just looking for a little more inspiration to get me back into making things.
I always go through a "Yay, fall! Yay, Christmas!" period at about this time of year, and it seems to be happening right on schedule. *g* This time of year is when I start planning ahead for gifts and winter projects, thinking about things I want to make, things I want to bake, winter holiday fic exchanges and the like. If I'm still this enthused about White Collar in a couple of months, I would love to run a WC gift fic exchange (but I really had better finish my
collarcorner story before I go thinking about other things along those lines).
I'm not sure if I'm going to do Yuletide this year. I've done it 3 years now, had tremendous amounts of fun every time, and I feel sad at the idea of being left out! But every year that I've done it, there's been at least one small fandom (usually more than one) that I was wildly enthusiastic about -- something I really wanted fic for, something I really would love to write fic for. This year, unless something comes up in the next couple of months, there just isn't anything Yuletide-eligible that I'm in that "squee and bounce!" headspace for. It might be a good idea for me to take a year off and just read/rec this time.
I feel like getting into a discussion today, but I can't think of anything to get into a discussion about. We could talk about writing? White Collar? Oh, I know: crafts! :) Are you working on anything right now -- knitting, quilting, dollmaking, anything like that? If so, what?
