More Avatar:TLA thoughts (who's surprised?)

I rewatched the first couple episodes of A:tLA (I just went in to check a canon thing, and then couldn't stop) and it made me reflect all over again on how well put together the series is. ( Spoilers for the whole series, and musings on working within genre limitations ... with extra bonus screencaps! )

In conclusion: oh show, how are you so awesome? :D

Just out of curiosity ...

Yeah, I'm using radio buttons so you have to pick one. *g* This doesn't mean that you'd never read something written in first, or rotating third -- just what you're most comfortable reading, or what might tip the balance if you had to choose between two very similar-looking books or stories. (I'm leaving off second entirely ...)

Sudden surprise fish! (Yes, it's A:tLA again)

Ahahaha ... okay, thanks to a very amusing icon of Zuko with a fish on his head, and rydra_wong letting me know that it was actually from officially canonical comics, I went and found the pertinent pages from the Nickelodeon tie-in comics (on scans_daily). (Takes place between seasons two and three, contains some spoilers.) Agh, I think I'm slipping right past "Hey, I guess I'm okay with that pairing" into active shipper territory. (ETA: And no, I don't mean Zuko/fish. This fandom is not actually that cracky. Even canon isn't actually that cracky ... much.)

Also, after finding this other excerpt from the comics (scroll down past the movie-casting pictures of CAPSLOCK-INDUCING RAGE), I have got to get my hands on the rest of them. Anyone know if they can still be purchased anywhere?
