Aug. 27th, 2008 01:03 pmI think that reading the actors' responses to being cancelled is actually more depressing than losing the show! Rachel says the crew is like a family and they're shocked and sad not to work together anymore, and David is going to miss playing McKay. *wails* Seriously ... I don't really feel so bad for us fans -- well, okay, I kinda do, but this puts it in perspective, because we've still got each other and we've still got the world to play in if we want it, but they're losing their jobs and their friends and the characters they've gotten used to playing ... their lives, basically. *sniffle*
I do hope that they end up doing more projects like "A Dog's Breakfast" where at least some of them get to work together again. And of course there are the movies ... but what if they can't get all the actors for the movies and have to write out some of their characters? That would be worse than having none at all!
I NEED SOMETHING HAPPY NOW.
New comms discovered lately:
jeannie_daily (for all your Jeannie/Kate Hewlett needs *squee*);
bringthehappy, which is currently having a HAPPYFEST of comment fic (with Atlantis prompts! We need LOVE!); and
galpalficathon - their tagline is a big turnoff for me, sadly (I feel kinda insulted by it, though maybe I'm being overly sensitive), but they're running a multifandom, female-friendship gen ficathon in September that sounds quite awesome!
