On the road

Quick drive-by post (as it were) from Ithaca, NY ... my sister is at work and it's been raining off and on, plus she's got the car, so I'm hanging out around her apartment, working on fic and surfing the net. Ahh, vacation....

Which is half over already! I had a blast in Boston with derry667 and tipper_green and their friend Mog; I still can't quite get past feeling like the uncool kid at the party who can't believe that the cool kids actually don't seem to mind me hanging out with them. And I can't tell you how much fun it is to get to talk to other fangirls in real life -- nothing screams "GEEK!" like playing Life Signs Detector with a GPS in downtown Boston, for sure ...

Next stage of the vacation is a road trip around New Hampshire and Maine; my sister has to work tomorrow and then we'll be hitting the road early Monday morning. No itinerary, just a road map (which we have solemnly vowed not to peek at unless we really get lost), a couple of guidebooks to hiking trails in NH and along the Maine coast, and a full tank of gas. Wheee!
