I am being HORRIBLE about spoilers this week! I know! *facepalm* but I went ahead and watched the promo clip for the next episode anyway.

THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT IT! :D (And Mozzie with his surveillance ice-cream stand and tourist-offending prices is made of adorable -- loved the interplay between him and Peter, too!)

... actually, I think this wasn't a bad clip to watch, because it looks like the very beginning of the episode -- at least, it has to be VERY close to the beginning, based upon the exposition.

Okay, I SWEAR I am being good now! Well ... less bad, anyway. No additional spoilers, please - but feel free to talk about this clip to your heart's content. :)

I haven't kept up with White Collar, mostly because the only character I'm interested in anymore is Mozzie and that wasn't enough, but if there's actual talking about things like adults I might give it a try again.

Well, it's still the same show it ever was - I think if the secret-keeping and general circularity of plot/character development are going to be issues for you, they're never not going to be issues, if that makes any sense? It works for me (at least, it's been working lately), but I can totally see how it would not work for a lot of people, seeing how close I was to giving up on the show earlier this season.

Yeah, I just got tired of how so much always stayed the same. But I'll probably enjoy the occasional good episode :)

*nods* It's one of those shows where I have to, I suppose, turn down my critical-thinking faculties in order to enjoy it. And I really do enjoy the characters a bunch (and engage with it fannishly), so I'm willing to do that. I think the other reason why I cut WC so much slack is because, for a show in its genre, it very rarely makes me feel slapped in the face with the way it handles women or queer characters or PoC characters or violence in general ... I mean, not that it's perfect by any means, and there are a few moments where you just have to go "... oh, SHOW, stop", but it's generally better by far than most of the other crime-type shows out there.

I think if the show was willing to take more risks and break away from its established patterns, it could be really, really good -- like, "recommending to people" type good. But ... it's just not that kind of show.
