More random HL thoughts up to the end of Season 3

Oh, Richie, don't leave again. >_< But once again, I love the slow, inexorable pace of change in this show, and the continuity! They don't just abandon or drop stuff; things that happen in one episode bleed over into the next, and nothing stays the same.

Duncan's rental space full of all his stuff ... OHHHHH! That makes so much sense! I'd vaguely wondered how he keeps all his old stuff while he moves around like he does.

And then the aptly-named finale ...

Methos is still a Watcher! hahahahaha *dies*. Joe, when it comes to consorting with Immortals, you are the worst Watcher EVER. But also the most awesome. (Also, good one, Methos! Because, when you work for a TOP SECRET ORGANIZATION, neatly compiling its information all in one place is an AWESOME idea. Though I do find it rather interesting -- and, yes, adorable -- that Methos's approach to immortality is rather the same as Duncan's: change, adapt, learn ALL the things!)

Also, Amanda? ROCK ON. Okay, yes, freeing Kalas and then failing to immediately kill him was another high-caliber mistake (sneak up behind him and lop off his head, Amanda, you dink ... or is that against their code?) but she really tried to clean up the mess she'd made, and did a pretty credible job of un-damsel-in-distressing herself.

Also ... Joe, wow. I wondered how far he'd go to protect the Watchers' secret. That was dark. *loves*

"He didn't save her. He saved you." *squeakyflail*

Moving on to PART DEUX! First off, AMANDA LIVED, SQUEEEEE! (I was quite worried at a few points.)

You know, in the end, Kalas's Ultimate Revenge(TM) seemed kind of ... anticlimactic. After all the threatening of Duncan's friends and so forth, I was hoping to get a little bit more "friends in mortal peril" out of the whole thing! But we got good scenes with pretty much everybody, so I am a happy little fangirl anyway.

Also, Eiffel Tower as giant Quickening lightning rod .... HAHAHAHA. That is about two parts awesome to one part ridiculous. But I literally laughed out loud in delight when I realized what Duncan's plan was. Good thing no one in Paris noticed the giant electrical storm that fried all the computers, though, eh?

I won't give up my dvds simply because of the extras and interviews. But if you're not interested in those, it might be a better investment to get the Blu-Ray as they are being put out. They only have seasons 1-3 out now though.

Yep, me too on the extras. In fact, when they came out in the beginning I drove all over Memphis to get them at Best Buy. If you bought the Best Buy dvds with the special black band, there were extra *extras* not on the regular dvds.
