I think I have a total crack AU idea for one of the squares on my cliche_bingo card. This one requires pairing Rodney off with someone who is very specifically not Keller, Sam, or anyone else who fits his stated dating profile in canon, i.e. hot blondes. The fandom-obvious one here would be John, but since there are a million John/Rodney AUs already, I think it might be potentially more interesting (and unexpected) to pair him off with someone else. I am undecided. F'list, what do you think?

I've always had a soft spot for Rodney/Teyla. If they *did* go for each other, I could see her being one of the few people who could keep him in line. And OT4 is a never a bad thing: everyone gets some lovin'!

There may be a million John/Rodney AUs, but they haven't been written by *you*, which is something I'd dearly like to see more of. That said, you probably won't want to do it, so Rodney/Elizabeth has potential I think. It's different. And Rodney/Teyla is always lovely. There's a lot of OT4 out there too, and it's not something I enjoy much (so I hope you don't decide on that), but I'm in the minority, for sure.

(Carson isn't in there for the simple reason that I think writing Rodney/Carson would be even more difficult for me than Rodney/Whale.)

I'm actually amazed that so few people chose John as an option. If I were to guess the poll results ahead of time, I would've guessed a lot more people would have wanted to see me write John/Rodney, just based on the fandom in general and my f'list in particular.
