eeeeeee!

[livejournal.com profile] astridv made gorgeous fanart inspired by ME! It's for my story Night Ops (Jennifer, Rodney, John; mostly gen with light McKeller, though not in this scene). Rather large picture under the cut -- vaguely spoilery for the story, I guess, but only if you couldn't figure out from my past stories that John and Rodney probably don't make it to the end unscathed.

This is so awesome! I love Jennifer's use of the patented Rodney McKay P90 technique (close your eyes, point the gun in the general direction of the enemy, and hope!); I love the feeling of cold and desperation, and all the details -- Rodney's jacket not quite fitting John, the Atlantis-y control tower in the background, Keller's combat boots!

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] astridv. :)

Eeeeee~! That's gorgeous! I loved the fic, and I love this illustration - so many great details! Jennifer's expression! The snow! The way John and Rodney are all slumped over! Awww.

Isn't it awesome! *bounces* Who doesn't love a gal with a big gun? :D

That's just great! I haven't read the fic yet (and no, I have no idea how that happened), so thanks for the reminder -- I've marked it, at least. But you're right -- the way she's adopted Rodney's "close eyes and hope" technique is brilliant. But then I see the blood in the snow ... ::shiver::

I really think she nailed the scene -- it's awesome! And I hope you enjoy the fic when you read it. :)

WOW that's awesome fanart! I love the way John has his hand on her shoulder -- that it's not clear whether it's to stop her or to lean on her.

She did an awesome job on it. :)

Seeing it again makes me smile even more! Lucky, lucky you!!

Btw, have you noticed just how big that P-90 looks compared to Jennifer? Perfect!

Wow! Nice! I didn't read your description before I clicked on the cut link. So my first thought was Teyla sure looks a lot like Keller, and she's kicking butt!! Then I read the pre and post and realized she IS Keller!! Great job to astridv. Now I've got a fic to read too to go with this fanart!

Amazing makes me want to reread your fic. Pefect for your fic

She does such an amazing job making details pop out, like the P-90 fire, and the blood on the snow, and John's hand on Keller's shoulder...and the light to dark transitions--you can tell she's a professional illustrator! Love her SGA stuff and I always squee when I see that she's done a new piece. How awesome that she did a scene from your story!

It was my pleasure! That story brought me so much joy, so I'm glad I could give something back. So weird, I had the sketch in my sketch books for ages (only the background and Jennifer's head were missing) and thought it wasn't going anywhere and I'd have to start from scratch... and then the other day, it suddenly clicked and I finished it in one evening instead of working. :)
