No True Pair, Biggles edition

Earlier this month (h/t to snickfic) I signed up for, and then completely forgot about, no_true_pair, in which you make a list of 8 characters and then the mods provide a prompt list (e.g. "1 & 7 go to a museum") and you see how your characters fit; it's like that old LJ meme.

The prompts are out (as that post says, "If you haven't signed up yet, SIGN UP BEFORE LOOKING AT THE PROMPTS" - everyone gets the same prompt list) and let's see what my characters are doing! (They can be from one fandom or any number of fandoms, as you like. In a twist that is shocking to no one, I chose all Biggles.)

Some of these are KILLING ME. A few of them would be better with a different combo (in fact in some cases I might try writing them with one of the characters swapped out) but on the whole, the random number generator Gets Me, I think. Also it clearly wants me to write Algy/Ginger with #1.

Which one(s) do you think I should write first? :D

Isn't that an interesting one? I love how this gets some really unusual team-ups that I would never have thought of writing.

I think Algy hates Marie more than EvS and there's quite a story of how they learn to play nice with each other

Not sure whether to do the same thing with a differently arranged Biggles list or just marvel at yours, but OMG, 'fragile smile' I am DEAD. Erich & Marie in the shadows! Algy making lunch for Erich! Ginger, Erich and a wardrobe malfunction, the mind boggles, but in an excellent way! Another trial for Erich and Raymond! I love them all :-DDD

I want to write at least half of these IMMEDIATELY. If I only get one Biggles & Erich prompt, that is a wonderful one. And I love a lot of the Bertie prompts, as I rarely write him, and Raymond (ditto). Algy packing lunch for EvS is just amazing, I definitely must think of a scenario that requires this.

Also, I feel that you SHOULD do your own differently arranged list. Or borrow some of mine if you like! :D I'm sure I can't write them all.

I initially read the ninth as 'Fritz keeps noticing Erich's choice', without the brackets. As in, he keeps noticing/realizing/catching snippets of what defection to the west has done and meant for his uncle, possibly via letters between West Berlin and London? I can see multiple people writing that one, each to great effect.

Everyone is invited to write any of these that they want to. :D I think what I might do is write a snippet of as many as I can; it'd be nice to write outside my comfort zone a bit ...

I love that idea with Fritz and Erich; watching Erich change through Fritz's eyes would be fantastic. <3

Re watching EvS change for the better through the eyes of his nephew: You could absolutely do a story like that justice. Just saying. :)

Re the snagging of prompts that spark ideas: Hmm... XD

It's not so much mine, but the very first on this list sounds like one for Rietta89! And the sixth, I can just hear Lacey now, after, say, turning around in the kitchen and nearly treading on EvS's foot: "Ah! You'll be near to getting yourself pelted with an orange if you don't buzz off a moment. You've my word there's nothing diabolical slipped in these sandwiches, and if that and the close watch you've been keeping aren't good enough together, you're welcome to sort your own."

I've had the bit about pelting someone with an orange in my head all evening. *giggles*

These are all splendid. Fragile smile! In the Shadows! Also, September 24 makes me need a fic where Fritz gradually realizes that Biggles/EvS/Marie is a thing.

I love ALL of these. ♥ I'm thinking about maybe writing short snippets for as many of them as possible, since a lot of them don't really have a fic attached but look like they'd be fun to write a little of, and then letting it develop into a full fic if it seems so inclined.

... Uh-oh. I just had an idea hit me over the head. It is grim (not unrelentingly so, but there are shades of both wars not so much lurking around the edges as billowing as a backdrop) and lyrical by turns, and it happens to be the prompt for September 18, which is my sharding birthday! I may just have to do the thing. Now to figure out what the underlying setting is...

Actually, I would prefer not to in this case because I don't want to be influenced if I go ahead and write a fill for that prompt myself! Go ahead and write and post it with my blessing. :)
