Ooh

I was just telling [personal profile] frith_in_thorns about Invisible Man (the early-2000s show) and then I went and checked on Hulu and discovered they have the whole series (both seasons!) for free. I haven't rewatched it in AGES (and I'm pretty sure I've never rewatched season two, since it never came out on DVD) and now I am thinking about maybe running a weekly rewatch -- or first-time watch for people who've never seen it -- while Hulu's still got it up.

Would anyone be interested in that?

If you've never seen it, this show could best be summed up as: adorable characters, utterly ridiculous plots, total slashbait main pairing plus a fabulous female character who make a lovely OT3 together, and scads of canon h/c. The only reason why I didn't write a ton of fanfic for it, I suspect, is because I got into it at a time when I really wasn't writing much fanfic and was mostly in anime/comics fandom circles.

(There is always the possibility that I'll go back and rewatch a couple episodes and find out that it's actually awful, of course.)

So, when I first read this, my response was, "I'd be up for that." Then I read the series description on Hulu, which is, "An ex-thief agrees to undergo an experimental surgery and work for the government in exchange for his freedom," which changes my reaction to, "Ahaha, I'm so in."

I rewatched it fairly recently (couldn't have been too many years ago, because I ended up writing a teensy White Collar crossover snippet of Neal being appalled at Darien's clothes) and I thought it held up surprisingly well.

I'll try to join in on a rewatch but I have ALL THE TV this season, and I'm still picking through my old videotapes and need to finish up my Sentinel rewatch by Christmas.

I'm in on a rewatch, totally. Invisible Man was wicked fun.

YES.

(I've watched it within the last five years and it is definitely not awful.)

Oh gosh yeah, some of the plots were... uh. (BUT THEN there were episodes like the one with the home for old spies! and the one with the truth serum! so tbh I forgive them.) I think there's only one episode I cringe too hard to rewatch, and that's the second ep.

Oh man, the Mongols episode, I'd forgotten about that. >.> Maybe it's because the writers haven't gotten a handle on the characters yet? Or they've blown all their budget on the first episode, and are forced to do with less?
