Legend of Korra - spoilers up to 1x10
I haven't really been posting about Legend of Korra because I haven't had that much to say about it. I've been discussing it a little at the episode discussion posts on
white_lotus, and otherwise ... it's a gorgeous show, but for the most part, it's left me a bit flat -- I enjoy the episodes, but don't really feel that engaged by the characters.
Then the latest episode happened.
And now I am LIN, LIN, ALL THE TIME LIN. I loved her from the very first time we saw her (badass older ladies FTW!) but she just KEEPS. GETTING. MORE. AWESOME.
frith_in_thorns has a couple of lovely Lin Bei Fong picspams - part one (1x01-1x09) and part two (1x10) for your viewing pleasure. :D
LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!
It's ironic that I was complaining a few weeks ago that I wished the show would stop pulling the cop-out thing at the last minute and have a main character's bending taken away ... and then they did it to the one character I didn't want them to do it to. UNFAIR I SAY. (Mako! Take Mako's bending, please! I don't hate him, but gaaad, he annoys me. Mako without bending is an idea that intrigues me very much! Mako with bending, however, is a self-absorbed dink.)
But anyway, LIN. Being Lin, she is probably going to be ten kinds of badass even without metalbending, and I'm also not convinced that it is actually going to turn out to be permanent in the long run. But I don't know! And I really hope she gets a good solid arc as a non-bender, because GAHHHH I need more LIN!
And of course, on other topics from this episode, there is also this (graphic not made by me):

HAHAHAHAHAHA YES. My reaction to him at first glance vaguely reminds me of the way I responded to Roy Mustang in FMA, and we all know how that turned out. Also, just hearing Dante Basco's voice was the source of some squeakyflailing around here. *g* It makes me want to go back and rewatch a ton of Zuko episodes now!
