White Collar 1x08

Just watched 1x08 and ;LKASDF;LKA THAT WAS COMPLETELY AWESOME. These episodes just keep getting better! THE SCENE IN THE VACUUM CHAMBER. SO MUCH SQUEE THAT MY CAPSLOCK IS STUCK. *flails*

I adored the verbal fencing between Neal and Peter in this episode! It reminded me a little of the fight in 3x04. Actually, this is something I like about the show in general -- there are lots of episodes in which the characters' words have a double or triple meaning that only some of the people in the scene get. Smart, snappy, many-layered dialogue wins my heart.

And Peter trying to buy off Kate because Neal is his friend and he doesn't want her breaking Neal's heart, a;lsdkfjads;lkjfasd too much awesome for words.

But the scene in the vacuum chamber WINS ALL THINGS FOREVER.

"Hard Sell" is one of my absolute favorites. We watched it again with the commentary (having missed the first season, we watched it on DVD while watching the second season begin on tv). And I had to rewatch a couple of scenes even beyond that.

I think one thing that really got me about this episode, and the vault scene in particular, is that I had no idea it was coming. Having watched a number of music videos before I got into the show, I've already seen a lot of the show's emotional high points -- the drugged-Neal scene in Vital Signs, say, or the part where Peter is poisoned in season 2. And it's completely awesome to be able to put them in context at last, but not quite the same as getting the full emotional impact. This one, though ... I've never seen that scene in any music video before, though I'm kind of surprised that I haven't, because it's such an absolutely wonderful scene between the two of them! I am such a huge sucker for the whole "reciprocal saving of each others' lives" thing. :D

This is why I'm really hoping for some whump in season three. Because, you know, it would go a long way in furthering Neal's dilemma. Yeah, that's why I want it *whistles innocently*

Awww man, I am so hoping for something like that. With all the buildup and suspense and tension in Neal's relationship with Peter this season, I think I will be disappointed if this storyline doesn't have some sort of admitting-they-care-under-duress or saving each others' lives sort of thing at the end of it. :D

I mostly watch this show for the fluff, but it's got heartrendering moments like these that keep me entertained :D

Yeah, White Collar is a show I mostly started watching to have something light and entertaining in the background while I work on art or freelance stuff. And then it got so engrossing that I couldn't do anything else but watch it while it was on. *g* I was expecting light, fluffy and fun, but I didn't expect that it would end up tugging my heartstrings like it does.

I just started watching White Collar a week or so ago and love it. I just finished episode 1x08 the night before last. Awesome. I am hooked.
