Dresden Fiiiiiiiles
Chapter 2 of Ghost Story is up at Jim Butcher's website! Which mostly consists of material that used to be in Chapter 1, so we've read it already. Apparently a bit of editing must have happened. Except there's a chunk of new material at the end, confirming that Jack, the afterlife cop guy, is Murphy's dad (who on my flist was speculating about that?). And PLOT is finally starting to happen! Next chapter NOWWWWW???
And ... speculation time! I figure Harry's going to see whatsisname, the little nebbish guy who talks to dead people; the only other character who comes to mind that he might be talking about is Bob, but a) I can't remember where Bob is right now (hidden on Thomas's boat? with Molly?), and b) Bob would be too useful. *g* Harry's life is not that easy. It's got to be someone who is going to be neither happy to see him, nor particularly inclined to help him.

I'm trying to decide if I really want to torture myself with sample chapters, though.
I'm so impressed that at this point in the Dresden series, the books just keep getting BETTER! Most fantasy series have become stale and repetitive by book 6 or 7

I know! Most series of any sort have started getting stale and dull by this point, actually. Dresden Files was a slow build - it takes 3 or 4 books to start hitting its stride - but it hasn't let up since. I'm so impressed at how many different plot threads he's juggling by this point, and the way that the characters keep growing and changing.
New book in JULYYYYYYY!

I think you might be right 'bout who he's going to...at least I totally agree that it will be someone that does not particularly like him/inclined to help, because, well, Harry's life SUCKS like that! Poor Harry! *whimper* Want it NOW, precious, NOW! :-p

We've held out for over a year; we can last another month! Somehow! *wibbles*

But, we get to *wibble* all together soon, so that should help! ^___________^

... I am looking forward to this trip so much!

Mortimer Lindquist, I think was his name? I'm betting on him. Wasn't Bob in a backpack with most of Harry's stuff in the Nevernever after all?
NEED NEXT CHAPTER NOW.

I think they retrieved Bob from the Nevernever for the battle at the end of the book, didn't they? And I have no idea what Harry did with him after that. I guess I could go get the book and reread it (what a hardship ...).
NEW CHAPTER SOON! NEW BOOK SOON!

But at least it's only a month till the book comes out! The real, actual book!

But I'm SO EXCITED about the book coming out soon. It's been ages since I've looked forward to a book this much, and I have a lot of confidence in Butcher as an author; I don't think it's going to be a total anticlimax after all the buildup. *bounces*

I just realized this book is coming out, like, six days before I move! And I usually buy the signed version, so it probably won't arrive until a week after the release date! And I don't know my new address yet to get it shipped there! *augh!* What do I do???
I may have to buy two copies of the book!no subject
I don't know where you live or are going to live, but if you're close to one of the stops on his signing tour, you could buy an unsigned copy and get it signed later ...
ETA: Though if you're super busy with moving, getting the book later might be a blessing in disguise.

The darn thing comes out RIGHT in the middle of my busy season, when I'm on the road. So...Kindle for travel reading, and HB for my shelves.
