Chapter 2 of Ghost Story is up at Jim Butcher's website! Which mostly consists of material that used to be in Chapter 1, so we've read it already. Apparently a bit of editing must have happened. Except there's a chunk of new material at the end, confirming that Jack, the afterlife cop guy, is Murphy's dad (who on my flist was speculating about that?). And PLOT is finally starting to happen! Next chapter NOWWWWW???

And ... speculation time! I figure Harry's going to see whatsisname, the little nebbish guy who talks to dead people; the only other character who comes to mind that he might be talking about is Bob, but a) I can't remember where Bob is right now (hidden on Thomas's boat? with Molly?), and b) Bob would be too useful. *g* Harry's life is not that easy. It's got to be someone who is going to be neither happy to see him, nor particularly inclined to help him.

I'm trying to decide if I really want to torture myself with sample chapters, though.

I'm so impressed that at this point in the Dresden series, the books just keep getting BETTER! Most fantasy series have become stale and repetitive by book 6 or 7

Hee, you beat me to 'posting bout this! Was reading this at work earlier...HOMG, want book like BURNING!!! New chapter next week, so that's something at least! And I was at least one of the people speculating, cause I remember being almost positive it was Murph's dad (actually, when reading the chapters, I sorta forgot that part was new cause I'd been so sure..)

I think you might be right 'bout who he's going to...at least I totally agree that it will be someone that does not particularly like him/inclined to help, because, well, Harry's life SUCKS like that! Poor Harry! *whimper* Want it NOW, precious, NOW! :-p

Mortimer Lindquist, I think was his name? I'm betting on him. Wasn't Bob in a backpack with most of Harry's stuff in the Nevernever after all?
