I have a good icon for this ...
Things which are embarrassing: writing a story, struggling with a title for a story, coming up with one I really like, posting it -- and then browsing back through the history of the archive where I posted it and discovering that someone else posted a story with that exact title (well, almost exact) just a couple of days ago. FAIL, SELF. I did that once in SGA too, and couldn't quite figure out how to deal with it. *flails, hides* It's not a case of conscious copying, more like fannish synchronicity, especially in this case since I didn't even know the other story existed. Anyway, I feel like apologizing to the original author, even though it's not like I did it on purpose? BUT STILL.
I'd really like to write more Highlander, but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas that aren't epic-length. Would anyone like to leave me some prompts? :) I'm not promising to write any of them (I actually have a terrible track record when it comes to writing from prompts, just FYI) but I'm looking for inspiration and I'm not above asking for it. *g* I'm currently underway in a big revision project on my original novel, so it's nice to have bite-sized little stories to work on; it makes me feel like I can actually finish something.
So give me a Highlander character or characters, and some sort of prompt: it can be something abstract and nonspecific, or a specific idea for a story or scene or episode tag or whatever that you might like to see me write ... I'm just floundering for ideas.

Okay: How did the Horsemen split? If it hadn't been amicable I suspect one or more of them would be dead, and I've been having trouble coming up with a satisfactory explanation for how they parted. So basically my prompt is HEY DO YOU HAVE ANY HEADCANON ON THE SUBJECT THAT I CAN BORROW?

So perhaps I need to muse on this a little more. :) *muses*

I guess I can see Methos giving it up to become ~scholarly~ if maybe it began as some kind of arrangement where he fed them information and whatnot, and they just kind of drifted apart from there? But. Ahaha. "SIT DOWN! DON'T MAKE ME SAY THAT AGAIN!" Amusing, but no.

As for more fic: What's wrong with epic? :D

*cheers you on for the novel*
*has no ulterior motives whatsoever*
(As for prompts: How about something post-Not To Be? What does Duncan do next?)

Would something like this work?: Duncan, Tessa, (maybe Richie too); anniversary

Prompts:
Methos and a journey by train.
Amanda and the royal wedding (any royal wedding will do).

Just passing by, saw your post and I love Highlander so if you don't mind a couple of prompts from a stranger:
Duncan/Methos -
Sunburn, a trashy novel and The Beatles playing on the radio
a canoe, a scorching hot day and a lost paddle
Methos, Joe, Duncan -
a guitar case, a sudden rain storm and an invitation
a marmalade cat, an empty Heineken bottle and a wobbly table

As for prompts - I don’t even know if you’re still looking, but I have one:
Photos in Methos’ Wallet.
I think this could say quite a lot about his character. I could imagine Duncan rifling through his wallet only to find a photo of the horsemen and be totally dumbstruck and angry/annoyed. Equally I could imagine him only having a photo of Joe or Alexa or someone we don’t know.

I'm not sure how many of the prompts I'll actually manage to get written (with hc_bingo and a couple of fic exchanges to do as well), but this is a great one. :D

Anyway, I'm glad you like my prompt.
