Highlander 5x05-5x08
... apparently I'm back in marathon mode. Also, I think Netflix fixed the sound-sync issue after I reported it the other night? Or else it was only some episodes of the season ... anyway, the last batch were all just fine.
5x05 - Dramatic License
... WHEEZING WITH LAUGHTER. XDDDDD Omigod, this show. I can't. I don't even. This episode was comedy GOLD.
More seriously, as pairings go, Amanda/Duncan has utterly stolen my heart. The fact that they're patently incapable of living together for any length of time without driving each other crazy -- that it's highly unlikely to be anything other than an on-again, off-again thing, and yet they keep coming back to each other -- is a big part of the reason, actually. It's not a traditional hearts-and-flowers romance in any way, it's never going to lead to a white picket fence & kids (can't, in fact), and I am all over it. (I'm still quite gone for Duncan/Tessa as well, but this pairing has happily taken up residence in my heart right next to it.)
Also ... have any of you guys have seen The Onion's How Did I End Up On The Cover Of This Romance Novel? It seems somehow pertinent here. XD "Can’t a brawny, brooding man ride his stallion slowly through the fresh-smelling air of a misty forest at dawn ... without having to constantly look over his perfectly sculpted shoulders?"
5x06 - Money No Object
... I think the show is even violating its own metaphysics at this point, but whatever. *g* This one was a little too over-the-top for me, but it made me laugh.
"Cory is a pro."
"Cory is an *ass*."
"You're just saying that because he ran over you."
"Twice!"
Also, Richie is actually developing some Amanda-handling skills! I'm impressed.
5x07 - Haunted
Joe Dawson, counselor to Immortals, will never fail to make me grin. *g*
Duncan and Richie's relationship is so complex, with so many ups and downs and false steps. I really love how it's developed, even though some of the places it's gone have been fairly dark.
5x08 - Little Tin God
*eyerolls a bit at the jungle flashbacks*
"How do you watch a pirate?" *hee* I love Joe and Duncan's interactions so much. I'm pretty sure their friendship has become my touchstone relationship for the show: the one where I look forward to their every interaction. I really adore all of Duncan's relationships with his friends and lovers, though -- each one brings a different kind of joy.
Also,
auburnnothenna is right: their world has very, very strange weather.
One thing I liked is that this episode brought up what Stargate was never willing to touch: the idea that, if we know there are some beings with strange powers running around pretending to be gods, what if all of them are? I don't think I would've wanted them to flat-out say "Jesus was an Immortal" or whatnot, but I really liked that they both a) acknowledged the possibility, and b) never really said one way or another if it's true. Because Duncan's right: it's about faith, and on some level doesn't matter.
ETA: The UPS guy just came, and my HL DVDs are heeeeeeere! So much for ever getting anything useful done ever again.

I don't actually remember most of the other eps you've mentioned, except in the vaguest of ways...I must've seen 4th season in reruns, but missed most of the non-Methos s5? ^^; I know I *have* seen the whole show, but not all of it sticks...!

I did laugh at the scenes of poor harassed Duncan trailing Amanda and Cory from state to state and digging them up. Poor Duncan. What he puts up with sometimes. :)
Dramatic License - LOL! Although all the details aren't clear, I remember this one not going how I thought it was going to go when I started it. :)
And Haunted - yes, you've talked about how the show does consequences, and here's another episode that shows that. Richie doesn't get off easy from his walk on the dark side.

LOL - enjoy! :)

Yeah, I think that's what made it hard for me to take the episode at face value. The whole Bonnie & Clyde thing was hilarious -- poor Duncan! hee! -- but it seems like being blown up is one of the few things that could actually kill them permanently, and it just felt too weird to have it treated so lightly.

Yes, this! I love that the show doesn't just put things back as if it never happened. Richie went pretty dark for a while there, and the fallout from that continues to carry through.
