sholio: (SPN-Dean pretty face)

ahahahaha

Tonight's Supernatural (6x15, I think) - that was the most fun I've had watching an SPN ep in a long time.

Too bad "Misha" got killed; watching him play not-Castiel was SLAYING me every time he was on screen!

But the whole thing was hilarious ... I often find their meta eps a very mixed bag, and I was braced to not enjoy this one or at least for it to be so fannishly self-referential that I'd be having to explain every joke to my husband, but instead, I was laughing and totally entertained the whole way through.

(Though I did have to explain to him that Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles were the names of the actors, which is sort of key to getting about 50% of the jokes.)

And the end ... hee! It wasn't exactly knock-your-socks-off brilliant TV, but I think this goes right up there with SG1's "200" as one of the best fourth-wall-breaking episodes I've seen (among shows that don't make fourth-wall-breaking a regular part of their schtick, obviously). I think one of the things that cracked me up hardest is that they didn't try to imply that this is the "real world" -- the characters know it's not their real world and they just want to get back to the world of demons and angels, where everything makes sense! *g*

ETA: Apparently Misha Collins actually Tweeted his character's tweets from the show while the episode was airing. *dies quietly*

Yea, I was pretty much giggling all the way through it. I really love how they put in little bits - like Misha and his tweeting and Sara getting all up in arms about being ignored for Kripke. LOL! Yea, I was like ARGH! when they 'killed' Misha too. But then went on a killing spree of a lot of others - including Kripke! LOL!

Nobody does silly like Supernatural :D I loved the scene where they tried to act, and pointing out the fact that Bobby is named after the director. But poor Misha ;)

He did, he was tweeting in realtime for Pacific Standard time. And, hee, J-squared reference ftw!

one of the best fourth-wall-breaking episodes

Oh, definitely, even down to the "we have no idea how to end this so we'll just shoot everybody" ending - meta to the last moment, even the mention of getting the Variety cover.

It sounds seriously awesome. \o/

(But then again, I loved their previous meta eps too, so perhaps that's no surprise.)

I did, and I loved it! It's funny - for me it's sort of the opposite, I felt they integrated the meta so well with Chuck and all that, so for once it didn't throw me out. *g*

I've just finished watching and it was hilarious . I'd managed to avoid 99% of spoilers apart from one daft, unapologetic bint on a comm who asked for AU episodes recs because 6.15 was a AU ep.

it was pretty clever -- kudos to Misha playing Castiel the first time that the boys found him. There he was as Castiel, but it was still obvious that it was a character. I was laughing so much when Sam and Dean were trying to act and Misha was get so frustrated after take after take. The in-jokes were fast and furious: Sera getting peeved because no one knows who she is; j2 references; JP getting paid more because he’s the star; Jared Pad-PAdda- Padadda-what?; no one watches the series; Season 6 and all the eyerolls.

I actually yelled out loud when Misha got killed. *facepalm*

Interesting that there’s no magic in ‘this’ universe, no heaven or hell or God. I’m looking forward to the fanfic.

Also interesting, we got nothing about Jensen Ackles, no mention of getting married, no sight of his 'possible' digs et cetera. I understand he's pretty private.

Brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed it.

"But hey, at least we're talking."

That was a fun episode indeed.

I was bummed when Misha got killed but then again, it gave us this exchange:

-Misha was killed!
-Where?!

I just about laughed myself silly during this episode.

It was definitely a fun episode. I was disappointed that we didn't see anything of Jensen's life, but the rest was a hoot. Sad that Misha got killed and I kind of didn't like it that he was portrayed as such a whining guy at the end. But Misha must of not minded and it was fun.
