Heh, I suppose this has become one of those over-vidded songs, but never yet by ME, and it was just so Helen. One of the things that appeals to me most about Helen's character is that even after 150+ years, she's still so openly excited by the world, so passionate about seeing new things and going new places. Life is an adventure for her, as much today as a century ago, and I wanted to celebrate that with this vid.

This is really beautiful. I adore this song, it really does fit Helen. I never thought about using Carbon Leaf for a vid, but I like it.

I LOVE IT!

I love that it's not effect-y or super developed...it's just a look at Helen and Helen's world and all the the people in it. Not flashy, but perfectly selected and exactly with the tone of the music and the show.

I really liked each play through the chorus, and the clip where Ashley left. Oh, and all the clips with John. :) Mostly, though, I'm impressed with how you used AT's face to tell the story at all points, because she does it really well.

ETA: OH GOD, and the part about "being right on the night that our future was made", followed with the clips of Watson. JUST PERFECT!

3) This vid is just the perfect meshing of things one and two and totally made me grin and is really just what I needed today and, oh god, so perfect. Particularly the bit about a future being made (AND EVERYTHING ELSE) (and you even got in a Big Guy head smack!)

Awesome vid! Wonderful look at Helen's life and the people in it. The song and the video fitted really well together and if I wanted to describe Helen to someone I think I could just point her to this video. It's all about who she is.

Aww, you always make vids that make me wish that I had seen the source material... I really love the way you're editing to the lyrics, and I can feel that there's more to it than I can see without knowing the characters and situations, but yeah... Still keeping it. :D

But I'm happy that you liked it even without knowing the show! It's a fun show ... not one that I feel like I can recommend without hedging around with caveats (particularly "don't let the first season put you off; it gets better" XD) but I'm enjoying it a lot, and Helen's a really neat character.

The show ... in order to get into it myself, I had to do a sort of a highlights tour of the better episodes (okay, the ones with Tesla, I cannot lie *g*), which got me into the characters enough that I was able to go back and enjoy its more, um, flawed episodes. I do think the first season is very weak and the show picks up a lot in seasons two and three. But it's got a lot of the things that made Stargate so much fun: enjoyable characters, snark, and a really fun world concept.

But it was such a perfect Helen song that I couldn't help myself, and yeah, like I said above, everyone has a "first time" for hearing a new song, so I'm happy to introduce more people to a song that I love!
