There is also a handy how-to guide with videos of the signup process if you are unsure about the new signup form.

It might take awhile to get the signup page to load, because they're really getting hammered right now (it keeps timing out for me). I think I'm going to finish writing my letter and working out the details of my requests, and then come back to it a little later. ETA: Page is loading for me now, albeit rather slowly! \o/ Someone on my flist suggested that Google Chrome might work better than Firefox or IE (I'm using Safari off in the Macintosh hinterlands, so I don't know *g*).

Ha, I wish it would time out for me! Just trying to load it earlier crashed a) my browser and b) my computer. :(

Oh, SUCK! I just amended with an ETA that someone on my flist said Google Chrome works better than other browsers for dealing with the site ... I don't know if that would help or not.

They just announced there would be a fix to speed things up, so I'll just wait and give it a try again later. Possibly also at a time of day when most Americans will be asleep. *g*

Heh, yeah, avoiding time zones in which there are lots and lots of Americans hammering the servers is probably a very good idea. :D I'm not sure now whether I want to go ahead and finish my signup, or just wait 'til the code push. It would really suck to go through all the time to pick my offering fandoms and everything -- that takes the longest, because my requests are all ready to go! -- and then have to start all over again if they swap out the code right in the middle of me hitting "submit".
