Random SGA geekstuff
Still in Newfoundland. Yay for hotel room internet! And vacations! Note my random, time-wasting surfing here...
The ratings are up on the SGA and SG-1 finales! WAY up! *crosses fingers* If we get good numbers on the first few episodes of the next season -- and I think there's a good shot of it, with the premiere being at the "traditional" premiere time of year, plus crossover fans from SG-1 -- then I think we may have a good chance of getting a season 5. Squee!
I know I'm supposed to be staying away from Mallozzi's blog to avoid season 4 spoilers, but I am weak, weak! And he posts the coolest stuff, like this: the production layouts for Sheppard's quarters and McKay's quarters. Hee! There are some interesting tidbits in the notes on set props, particularly the cat picture, since people have speculated ever since we saw the picture in Duet on whether or not it's Rodney's cat -- according to the notes, yes, it is. (Somebody commented to ask why the cat in the picture in Duet looks like a different cat than the one in Rising; Mallozzi's answer: "He dyed it." More serious answer: he's had more than one cat. Most likely answer: the set people stuck a random cat picture in there and had no idea that fans would actually compare the two cats. *g*) And he's got the turtles from Return -- of course he does!
On a non-SGA note, I've finally been seductively sucked in by all the Dr. Who related squee that's been exploding all over LJ lately, and I think I'm going to start watching the series when I get home, in between Traders. Actually, as heavy as Traders often is, a little BBC sci-fi might make a nice chaser.

Yes, the pilot is Rising -- and sometimes it disturbs me to no end that I'm actually fannish enough about this show to quote episode titles and to do it automatically ...
And I'm quite looking forward to watching Dr. Who, from everything I've heard!

I love Eureka and think it is a great little show, but I do sort of hope that it suffers a bit of slump in the ratings as well. That - as much as improving the ratings for Atlantis might help get us a season five...
