Fanart?
This art is for the story The Sacrificial Mage on
sga_santa. The story is John/Rodney -- AU, non-explicit -- and completely awesome. One scene totally branded an image into my head and I had to draw it. Since I don't know who the author is, I can't give it to them directly, but I did post a comment to the story. :)
This is only very slightly spoilery, but makes very little sense if you haven't read the story.

Five just gave him an impassive stare in return, and then went to sit next to Teyla. He casually dropped cross-legged to the floor and put his clawed hands like a net in his lap. He leaned his head pointedly on Teyla's thigh, and glared at Rodney so expressively that even Lorne looked askance at the two of them. Teyla for her part blinked down at his wolfen mop of hair, and then looked bemusedly at Rodney, as if he was meant to have some idea of what the crazy lizard-Shield was doing. Rodney didn't scowl back at her only because she was pregnant.

Definitely will have to check the story out, when I get back in an SGA mood...

It's hand-drawn and colored in Photoshop.

Just looking at that picture makes me smile. Five's expression is priceless, so is Teyla's puzzlement. It's just wonderful.

I actually have the face of one of your graphic novel characters stuck to my wall - whenever I stumble over a bit of art I find inspiring, it goes up on that wall. Faces of grown ups are not my strong suit, because I draw nothing but kids all the time...

(I also have some of your images saved in my huge "Inspirations" folder on my hard drive. I wonder how many other artists do that?)
