That holiday wish list meme thing

I've rarely done this in the past, but I'm seeing it going around again this year so ... why not? :)

Step One:
  • Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 unlimited holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
  • If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
  • Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two:
  • Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
  • If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
  • You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out; it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
    * There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My list ...

1. Zombieland fanfic! What I really, really want (and can't seem to find anywhere) is Little Rock fic, especially if it involves her budding friendship/mentorship (but please god, not ship 'ship) with Tallahassee or her relationship with her sister. Though really, I would go for anything dealing with the group in a gen kind of way.

2. Along the lines of the above - I would *love* some recs for Zombieland gen fic. Communities, ficathons, anything? Thus far, all I've found is a handful of so-so fics on ff.net.

3. Paid LJ time. My account runs out in February, and I am completely shameless about wanting to keep my icons. If someone wants to gift me with some paid time, I would be so thrilled! (ETA: I think this one is pretty much taken care of! Thank you very very much, you guys. *hugs*)

4. Fan art for any of my stories.

5. Side stories, tags or missing scenes for any of my stories. (I'd love to find out "what happened next" without having to write it. *g*)

6. SGA h/c in which Rodney is the hurtee.

7. Rodney & Teyla fic. Can be gen, can be not-gen (though that's more difficult since they're canonically involved with other people).

8. SGA vids with season four/five footage. Vidding really tanked in this fandom around season four, which is really a shame because there is just so much that's pretty and visual in the later seasons. I know how much work vids are, so I feel weird saying "Someone make a vid for me!" (which is awfully demanding) but if you happen to know of any good ones from the last year or so, I would love to hear about them ...

9. SGA post-season-five gen* fic. Where do they all end up? Dark or sad is as cool as happy/fluffy.
(*"Gen" part optional. But I guess I'm looking for something beyond a happy ending for a happy couple.)

10. A simple, mostly-text template for my fanfic website that's flexible (i.e. easy to add new stories or story categories) and quick-loading. I need to redo my website now that my list of stories is so much longer, but I've pretty much forgotten all the CSS I ever knew.

This isn't *exactly* fulfilling for your #8, but it's a recent vid and DOES have some S4/S5 footage: Have you seen [livejournal.com profile] bironic's Every Day is Halloween in the Pegasus Galaxy (http://bironic.livejournal.com/184035.html)? Creepy and funny and awesome, it is, and from the POV of the Wraith, and I think it deserves a lot more attention than it got when it was originally posted.

Will have to ponder the rest of your list....Happy Holidays! :)

Re: #2-- there's some fic up at [livejournal.com profile] pacificplayland, although it tends towards Tallahassee/Columbus.

I know, right? She's awesome!

I'm still trying to write that tag for one of your five pirate stories. I like the direction it's going and what I have in mind, but my motivation to write anything (anything that isn't part of a fic exchange or that isn't really short) is pretty much nil at the moment.

But I will finish it, dang it! *Shakes fist at story in threatening manner* Finish!

I can oblige with both 6 and 7 in one hit. I just finished a 21k Rodney/Teyla fic, where Rodney gets hurt. It's due to be posted soon for a challenge (hence the anonymous thing) I really hope you like it, as you've never seen (or at least never commented on) any of my stuff before :)

I´ve been trying to write two stories for #5 for months and haven´t managed to finish. I´ll finish at least one until Christmas, I promise!

As for #9, you might (not) know Starting Over (In the Same Place) (http://pogrebin.livejournal.com/67215.html)
