Though I love Supernatural, I read very little fic for it; I'm just not really interested in it for that particular show. But this totally cracked me up:

Sort of a similar idea to my Postcards to Jeannie and other letter-fics ... in this case, Sam, while drunk, writes angry letters to Stephen King telling him all the stuff that his books got wrong. Dean scribbles his own notes in the margins.

I admit to reading SPN fic (very particular though) because I can't get enough of the fandom right now, and I refuse to nose dive into a forum. So...eppies and fanfics. Chosen fanfics, no just any old crap. These are a little hard to read, but hilarious!!! Have you seen the McKay death threats?

SPN seems to be one of those shows where I don't feel compelled to read fic for it. Every so often I'll prowl through the fic to see what's out there (which was how I found this), but generally it's just not that interesting to me -- I tried a couple of long ones and, while well-written, they just didn't seem to hold my interest. Some shows put me in total fic-reading-mode and others don't...

I hear ya. I tend to skim them myself to tell the truth, I just find myself going straight for the H/C if possible. Think I just have to find that niche...I'm pretty picky about SGA fics too.

I'm the same way with Supernatural - I'm enjoying it but feel no urge to read or write fic - only read the stuff people I know write because it feels like all my old fandom friends have fallen into the Winchester obsession.

That sounds awesome though - I love the idea of Sam writing Stephen King :)

I really do love this sort of stuff. It's funny because I actually dislike books that are written in the form of letters or diaries -- but I adore this sort of fic for fictional characters! I guess it makes them seem a little more real or something.
