The Avatar AMV of doooom is finally ready to be released into the wild! Thank you very much to gnine for looking it over for me, and giving very helpful feedback & suggestions. (And if you guys haven't heard this song mashup before, it's brilliant - I was blown away the first time I heard it, because the songs fit together like they were meant to be. And it was so much fun to vid!)

Oh, I LOVE that mashup, ever since I saw that Glee vid to it last spring, and this is even better because I love all the ATLA characters, and you included so much of everyone, even Haru and Hakoda.

I think my favorite bit was the clip with the planetarium opening: just lovely.

Thank you so very much; I'm delighted that you liked it! I couldn't fit in everyone, and I ended up stiffing Mai a bit (I had a lot more clips of her that I wanted to use, but they were nearly all clips of her and Zuko, and I had fifty billion clips of Zuko already ...) but I tried to get as many of the supporting characters as possible, because this is truly a show where I love everybody, and wanted them all to have their moments in the sun. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!

Right now the embedded version is only on LJ because for some reason I can't get it to work on DW. *flappy hands* Embedded video to follow once I figure this out. (Does anyone know how to do it? The LJ "video" tag doesn't seem to work, and the Youtube embed code causes the embedded video to bounce to the very top of the entry, which is not what I want at all!)

DW uses [site-embed] instead of [lj-embed]. If you're using the DW post-entry page, just click the "embed media" button and paste the embed code into that, then hit "insert", and your video will be embedded between [site-embed] [/site-embed] tags. The downside is that no matter where your cursor is in the post when you hit "insert", it'll put the video at the bottom of the page; if you want to move it, just cut&paste the chunk of code to wherever in the post you want it to go.

p.s. I think you want to say "the clips are very short and out of order" -- for video-related things, interlaced means that there are lines running through the footage because of how it was created to be displayed on CRT tvs.

ETA: I tried it, but it's still bouncing the embedded video to the very top of the post. Is that just a glitch in my site style, maybe? I want it at the bottom so that I can hide it under a cut.

Aww, there's just so much there that puts a happy lump in my throat--'life (?) knocks you down' clips especially, and Zuko on 'the risks that I'm taking', and Katara and Toph breaking rules! It's all awesome.

About the embedding, you might try embedding and then cutting and pasting the code it puts in your post in your text where you want it. (For me it always knocks it down to the bottom of my post, so I know how frustrating that is, but c&p always seems to work for me.)

I think the embed problem is finally licked; with arduinna's help, I was able to figure out that it's actually a display issue in my older version of Safari, so it was embedding fine but wasn't showing up correctly for me. I went ahead and embedded it, trusting that it looks normal to other people. *g*

That's a wonderful compilation of Avatar moments, including so many less-obvious ones, and it's also a wonderful reflection of your themes as a writer (if it's okay for me to say that -- it even ends in a puppy-pile!).

I think right now I love Suki's "boom boom pow" moment the best; ask me again in five minutes and I'll have another favourite moment.

ETA: Now my favourite moment is Iroh flipping the pai sho tile. See?

Squee! I'm so glad you like it ... and yeah, hee, it is so totally my id on display (but then, the show itself catered to my id so wonderfully; how could I not celebrate that? *g* CANON PUPPY-PILES OMG).

It's probably bad form to say this, but I loved the way the "boom boom pow" bit turned out; that was such a wonderful little bit of interplay between Sokka and Suki that I really wanted it in there somewhere, but I had to slide it around a lot to find a place where it clicked. :D

I've only just started watching Avatar seriously (season 2, baby!) but this is beautiful. I think my favorite part is Toph licking the badger-mole. Or Aang bonded with the ocean spirit (I think). Or the face Suki gives Sokka during "Boom Boom Pow." Or all the puppy-piles at the end. Or all the "down, down, down" scenes. (Yes, all of them). Awesome.
