Yuletide Madness!

The Yuletide mods have opened up the full list of prompts (note: apparently some prompts may not be displaying; this is a glitch in the new system, but most are there) for Yuletide Madness, the last day before the fest when anything goes. :) Anyone can write a fic for any prompt, of any length -- whether or not you participated in Yuletide this or any other year. These are due to be uploaded before the archive opens (I believe that it's midnight, US Eastern Time, give or take a little bit, when that usually happens). Fics under 1000 words should be posted in the Yuletide Madness section and over a thousand should be uploaded to the regular Yuletide section.

*bounces* I've been poking through the giant list o' prompts -- I've already found a half dozen I really want to write! (And just on the unlikely off chance that YOU came here from the prompt list, my Yuletide letter is here!)

Also, the winter holiday roundup of gen stories at [livejournal.com profile] stargategenrec is quite long; thank you to everyone who suggested stories, and I hope you can find something to read!

Hmmm looks confusing. It says you need an account, but I'm not sure how to sign up....will have to look further to see if I figure out how to do this and where to post....etc

Oog! I forgot about that! And they still have it set up so that you need an invite for an account.

If you go to the main page - http://archiveofourown.org/ - there is a VERY LARGE link where you can request an invite. However, if it takes awhile to go through, and since the stories will be anon 'til after New Year's, I can upload it for you if you like! They've actually got a pretty good system in place where you can put a co-author on a story and then take yourself off so that it's completely handed over. But I'm currently poking around [livejournal.com profile] yuletide and [livejournal.com profile] yuletide_admin to see if I can find how they're handling this for Yuletide Madness folks.

Just let me know if you want me to upload something for you, though. :) And sorry again for forgetting that!

Oh, could you do it for me if I end up writing something? So, all I have to do is give you the recipient's name, correct?

Going to delete my frantic plea for help on my own LJ :D

Yep. No worries. :) Then we can see if we can get you an account before the reveal so I can switch the story over to you; I can't think why that shouldn't work! And that way you won't have to go through the upload process for the first time at the last minute. :) (Though it's actually pretty easy -- I saw your panic post and I had pretty much the same reaction when I saw the length of the instructions, but actually, it's very similar to LJ. There are a lot of little things specific to Yuletide, though, like making sure the form is filled out properly so the story stays anonymous!)

ETA: I think you've got my email, right?

I do! Thank you. I'm sure signing up might not have been too hard, but when I get home all 'pictures' are turned off b/c of my dal up.

Here's hoping that after I get home and eat dinner, I'll have some juice left in me!

Thank you!
