Behold my latest ridiculous acquisition

I was idly looking through aviation-related ornaments on Amazon, as you do, and immediately oriented on this, which has now arrived in the mail.



IT'S EVEN GOT A TINY WINDSOCK THAT MOVES.

It's not *quite* in scale with the biplane I already have, but it's close enough to look nice, and it has a nice old-fashioned feeling that I really like.



A Christmas airplane diorama may be a necessity this year.

It's really well made, too! It's die-cast metal and the propeller spins. *_* (I got it off Etsy from someone with a large batch of vintage die-cast toys including various cars and planes.)

How lovely! In the diorama (or a photo!), a couple of judiciously drawn lines would make it look like a nice trick of perspective between plane and hangar.

Oh, that's a good point! ... although possibly more detail than this is going to involve, but we'll see how complicated I decide to make it ...

That's ADORABLE 😍 the tiny windsock! I am 100% here for the aviation-themed Christmas diorama.

(Also, I'm not sure if you know what your biplane is, but it might well be a Camel. I'd need to see it from another angle to be sure but the front end, the wings and the guns look right :D)

I don't know what the biplane is! I got it on Etsy sometime around last Christmas, and I just looked back at the listing in my purchase history, but it doesn't say exactly what kind. (Also it's strangely difficult to find ANY other listings at all for this online; it's a mass-produced metal die-cast model, but there couldn't have been very many because evidently they're quite rare in this size ...) I can take some more pictures soonish! It's remarkably detailed for its tiny size and I feel like it was a score. EVEN BETTER if it's a Camel!

I definitely need to have some fun with an airplane diorama ...

You just need a bit more space between the plane and the hangar, and then it will look like the right scale, with the hangar looking smaller due to distance!
