Torchwood recs part 5: LJ fic (mostly)

Anyway, here are some recs from my fanfic dumpster diving on LJ and other old sites. In some cases I found the fic on LJ or ff.net and then was able to dig up an AO3 link for it.
25 recs from (mostly) LJ, plus a few recs/fic comms. I've been typically searching for fic with an emphasis on Owen and/or general team and friendship fic, so there's plenty of good fic out there that just doesn't fit my current search parameters; I recommend checking out the recs comms at the end if you're looking for more. Most of the writers recced here also have more fic on their LJs, so you might want to go ahead and check out their fic/fandom/character tags if you find something here that you like!
These recs are categorized as general fic, apocalypses, and porn, which tells you a lot about what Torchwood fic is like. (Not included: the category of Torchwood fic in which all the characters are terrible people being awful to each other, which makes up a large proportion of the fic, especially in season one.)

Tag scene for "Dead Man Walking" with Ianto offering Owen comfort in their prickly, standoffish way. Perfectly in character and sweet without being OOC.

In the aftermath of "Countrycide," Tosh and Ianto start working on learning how to escape from ropes. Gen but lightly kinky.

Ianto falls into a frozen lake on a field mission; Owen fishes him out but then can't do CPR because he's dead (or, well, the show is convinced he can't, anyway) and has a self-doubt crisis. Lovely.

Sweet short teamfic with Gwen trying to adapt to being leader, the team supporting her, and everyone getting drunk and bonding.

The time travelers from "Out of Time" observing Torchwood, trying and failing to adjust to the future. Some 1950s-era homophobia.

Really enjoyable drabble series about the team learning to team again after season one.

Insightful, all-hurt-no-comfort character study in which Owen is tasked with destroying Lisa's body after "Cyberwoman." This is very painful but very season-one Owen.

An outbreak of zombies erupts in Cardiff. Fun team action fic. I especially like the competitive zombie-killing scorechart. (There is a bit at the end that I'm somewhat "....?" about, in which a literal, actual god from the vodoun religion shows up, mentioned here in case that might be a dealbreaker for some.)

Amazingly, yes! There are still a bunch of reccing and fandom/character-based comms, and a startling amount of the linked-to fic (probably ~90%) is still online. Even when I've run into dead links, I've still been able to find most of it by googling, on ffn or fandom-specific archives or the Wayback Machine.
It's likely that 5 years from now, a bunch more of this will be gone, so I'm saving anything I want to keep as I go. But really, I thought way more of it would be gone already.
