Still so completely SUCKING at avoiding SGA Season 5 spoilers! But ... but ... I just skimmed this interview with David Hewlett (trying desperately to read it and yet remain unspoiled ... yes, I probably believe in unicorns too) and then I came to this.

THEY ARE READING MY WISH LIST.

From the interview:

[episode being discussed] is going to have some Ronon and McKay stuff, basically addressing what has become a love triangle. It’s Ronon and McKay out in the woods the whole time, so that could be humorous.

*explodes in cloud of fangirl glee*

We're going to have a Ronon and Rodney episode! We're going to have a "Ronon and Rodney stranded in the woods" episode! I've been wanting an episode like this since "Allies"!

(Note: if you know more about this episode than what's in the interview, please don't tell me -- I just desperately had to squee before I exploded. Pictures, however, are a different matter ... are there any pictures from the filming up anywhere?)

Yes, the interview does come with spoilers (and at least one person posted all over the palce about it but forgot to mention that little fact). I've seen more and more people going spoiler-free this season. Not too sure on the love triangle thing though....eh, she'll probably dump 'em both for a hunky Marine ;)

Maybe they could go with a threesome? Now that would interesting.

... and it'll happen when pigs fly. *g* Though I agree with you, it would be interesting. I'm really curious if they're actually going to take the opportunity to develop Satedan courtship customs at all. Based on past experience, signs point to "no", but it would be really awesome if they did.

I've been mostly trying to go spoiler-free, but every once in a while I get weak! So far, I know much less about this season than ANY of the previous ones, but there's still six weeks to go, so we'll see how well I can hold out! I ended up spoiling myself worse last season than I wanted to, because it was such a dreadfully long hiatus that I ended up looking up promos and pictures just to get my fix.

I can't wait for that one... and the other one in the article... and the finale since I spoiled myself on that one too. Oh heck, just bring on the whole season!

Still totally unspoiled for the finale, and I'm working on forgetting the other things I read in the article! (Ah, the joys of selective amnesia!) But the spoiler above -- OH MAN I'm so looking forward to it! July can't get here fast enough.

Oh yes....I went and read it. I liked that while it gave away some of the overall story we don't really learn anything specific. I don't mind those type spoilers. It is the "while trying to rescue Teyla form Michael the team finds Carson's clone in a deserted lab..." type spoilers that drive me nuts.

And it is a very nice picture. This may sound strange but as much as I like David Hewlett most of the time he doesn't strike me as particularly handsome. Oh he not bad looking, but he not drop dead gorgeous the way that Jason Mamoa is. And most of the time that is a good thing. He can be the average looking guy. But that picture? Brings out all his best features.

Yeah, I do find David Hewlett completely adorable and quite sexy, but it's the sort of sexy that makes me want to cuddle him and raise his kids, as opposed to running off with him to a desert island. (Er, if I had such thoughts. Naturally, I'm married and pure as the driven snow.) But then there are pictures like that one, and I'm going, "... Flanigan who?" *g*

I haven't actually read the article - preferring to steer clear of spoilers! But I glimpsed yours and I have to say that I'm very happy with this - I'd love to see more Ronon and Rodney and I'm curious where they'd take it if indeed Rodney does date Jennifer.

And that pic of him in a suit... holy cow... he sure looks spiffy when he's not in a weird outfit!

And I've been desperately wanting a Ronon and Rodney episode! I loved season 4 in pretty much every way except the lack of Ronon/Rodney interaction, and it sounds like season 5 is going to make that all better! I swear every season to date has basically been going down my fangirl checklist and ticking off items.

hmm... that's about all I know about it, though my questions (unanswered) to Mallozzi's blog have been 'where's the rest of the team???????'. ::sigh:: And more than annoyed at the 'love triangle' I so wish they would just stop with throwing females at Rodney. ::glum::

I would expect Sheppard and Teyla to get their own little storyline while Ronon and Rodney are off doing their thing, though I guess we'll see -- if they continue the trend of spotlighting characters from season 4, perhaps it'll just be an R/R episode. Still, not gonna complain...

I knew about that spoiler a while ago (living with

gnine makes it difficult to remain unspoiled, however I try) and eee~ am I looking forward to the ep! The love-triangle makes me a bit "..." (especially when someone else in a recent interview - Mallozzi I think? - was saying this season has more romance than any before, which is very >_< DO NOT WANT XPPP - one of the draws of SGA for me is the lack of romance...) But still! The R&R Show! How can it go wrong!? ^^

And safjklagadfkl!!1! to the DH pic (double because it kind of showcases his acting right there - that's not Rodney, that's DH, and it's not the outfit but the expression...)

Oh, excellent point -- and you're right, that is very obviously NOT Rodney! Oh, that's cool. I'm very impressed. (Aside from being impressed in the usual, ultra-shallow way!)

The amount of romance they've had in the past has been just about right for me -- enough to suggest that they're adults and have personal lives, but not enough to take away from the plots. I'm a little nervous too, *especially* if they push the Teyla/Sheppard angle, which is a pairing that (for no particular rational reason) has made me grit my teeth since day one. On the other hand, I really like both Ronon/Keller and Rodney/Keller, so I'm really curious to see what they're going to do with it. Could be good or bad; I'm still on the fence.

Oddly I've never minded Teyla/Sheppard as much as, say, Sam/Jack set my teeth on edge - keeping it in the team, at least? I just sort of end up going OT4 ^^; But I don't care for Rodney/Keller - they can be cute in practice, but it's so much more of the same, we've seen Rodney be fumblingly sweet with a cute girl who likes him before, moving on (...I prefer the forest-fire-setting sparks between Rodney and Sam. Eheh.) On the other hand, Ronon/Keller pushes a bunch of my buttons, so I might also be biased against Rodney/Keller just because I started 'shipping Ronon/Keller without actually meaning to. Also Ronon/Keller would likely give us more Ronon scenes, and show us a different side of Ronon; while as I worry Rodney/Keller scenes would take away from Rodney-Team scenes, of which we get too few of as it is.

Still, "more romance than any season before" could still be a very small amount, and I don't think they want the show to go soap opera - I hope not!!

See, the Ronon/Keller/Rodney thing really has me torn. I like the idea of Ronon/Keller a lot -- I can totally see where the attraction comes from (especially with her strong resemblance to his dead wife), I like seeing Ronon get some screen time that's not fighting-related, and if anyone deserves to have a nice, happy romance, it's him. Back when that was hinted at, I was really hoping to see it develop more. But Rodney/Keller just kinda came out of nowhere and blindsided me with unexpected love for the relationship. Ronon/Keller I like in theory and think it'd be a good thing for the show and the characters; Rodney/Keller is more of what we had before, true, and is probably doomed to disaster because it's Rodney, but, in practice, I really like it.

The idea of Ronon and Rodney competing over a girl cracks me up utterly, though. As long as it doesn't take over the show or cause a permanent rift in the team -- and I just can't see either one of those outcomes -- I'm looking forward to it. And I'm highly amused at the idea of Sheppard and Teyla watching the whole mess with fond exasperation.

It's awfully ironic that now I'm reading spoilers and you're not! But yes, we're so close, and I'm going to try to be strong from here on out. (AHAHAHAHAHAHA.) Sorry about the temptation!

Well, ok. Maybe a little bit of speculation. But only on the yummy Sheppard infirmary scene pic which is the one bit of vaguely spoilery goodness I have allowed myself. So. Yeah. 99% spoiler-free. Maybe 98%. :D

Heh. I've actually been finding the whole spoiler-free thing (which is a life-long first for me!!) rather easy... but then I've also been fairly absent from fandom at times over the past few months. And now that the hype and spoilers are starting to ramp up for the new season it could start getting harder. But I am SO looking forward to watching the episodes with no idea of what to expect... that thrill is gonna make it all worthwhile. :D

I read the interview peeking between my fingers. I am a basket case when it comes to spoilers - I spend insane amounts of time worrying about teasers like love triangles (no!) and McKay/Keller (no! no!) even though I know that nine times out of ten the actual episode will do a complete 180°. You'd think after four years, I would have learned to relax.

So, yeah, okay, not a fan of romance, but if the producers insist on going that route, I hope it is Ronon/Keller. It would be great to see another side of Ronon; right now he doesn't get to do a whole lot more than loom in the background while waiting for Sheppard's orders (who doesn't give any) and he's capable of so much more than that. And Rodney already has plenty of character without adding another fumbling, awkward relationship to the mix.

Eh. We'll see; this comment is probably longer than the screen time they'll dedicate to romance. (See! I'm getting better at it!)

Yeah, I don't want the show to focus too heavily on romance, but something tells me that's not particularly a danger with *this* show! And, knowing nothing about the situation except what's in the article, I could happily go either way with the Keller thing (Ronon/Keller or Rodney/Keller). I like both pairings and I hope I'll be satisfied with whatever they do.

I, too, asked for some Ronon and Rodney scenes on Joe Mallozzi's blog - so you have me to thank as well as the others who did so!! Or, more likely, this was already written by that time - not to mention that apparently David Hewlett asked for more Rodney scenes with Ronon this season, so he's probably to thank really!!

Not worried about the Ronon, Rodney, Jennifer thing at the present. I have a feeling that people are overreacting and when we see the ep we'll all go 'oh, is that ALL it is?'!!! I could be wrong, but I'm hoping it'll be something Stargate-like not soap opera-like!

Won't say anymore, 'cos I have been spoiled to some extent by Joe's blog - though I'm keeping away from GateWorld as their ideas of spoilers is to give you the entire plot if they can!! - Hmm, I do use their omnipedia at times, so I guess it's squint at the top menu and ignore the news items to be safe...!
