So I'm up to 5x06 on NCIS (I need to write a post about it, because, despite certain issues with the show as a whole, I've enjoyed seasons 4/5 WAY better than I liked season 3), and you know what is cute as the dickens and pushing my fangirl buttons like whoa? McGee and Tony! I know there are quite a few NCIS fans out there on my flist, so does anyone know any good McGee/Tony h/c or friendship stories, or a good place to start looking for some? Abby/McGee would also be lovely. I'd take slash/ship with either of those pairs if you know of any good ones, but gen's what I'm really looking for.

Other than that, when I look for fics in new fandoms, I usually search on del.icio.us - if you type "tony mcgee" you'll see what are the most favorited pages...
One rec I can give you (that has nothing to do with what you asked for) is Stardust (http://www.fanfic.otherplaces.net/stardust.htm), which is a crossover with SG-1, and has very mild Tony/Daniel slash that's not really about the slash.

I think I've had Rictus recced to me before, but hadn't given it a try because it didn't sound like what I'm looking for. If sequitur does good team, though, maybe I'll check it out.
And, duh ... delicious! I always forget about it; I've only just recently learned how to search tags (at least in a way that makes sense to me). I'll take a look; thank you!

And... I mean, I don't see any way in which you could not like Rictus, even if it doesn't sound like what you're looking for. (Not that I'm setting your expectation bar too high or anything...)

The best, IMO writer gen in this fandom is sequiter. She (?) has several short but great McGee/Tony friendship stories as well as some awesome Gibbs/Tony friendship stories. I recommend anything you read from her. She's a gen writer in NCIS. Highly recommend you read her Rictus story. It's wonderfully intense and her grasp on the characters is one of the best I have seen in this fandom though McGee is not in it and it's a Gibbs/Tony h/c story, it is so worth reading and you have kick ass Abby in it too.

And you're also wanting to dip your toes in the fanfic now, do you? GREAT!
So, don't get leery of too many people reccing Rictus over and over (maybe I'm just projecting, but when too many people start raving about someting it makes me suspicious), because it's a lovely fic. Others, no doubt, will pimp Kikkimax's three NCIS stories, but if you've toddled in SG1 you've probably already heard of her. She's a "don't miss!".
I'll rec you the first fic that drew me into this fandom (and damn, but I keep posponing the proper rec on my journal for this, me very bad) which is a brilliant NCIS/SPN crossover

Super Em (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1303296/super_em) has a story, I believe called "Fridays" that had some nice Abby and Tony friendship and a strong team element, but it was a WIP and I started getting distracted by my own fics before I could finish it. It had a very strong start, though.
There's another author, who's name I'm also forgetting that has some really nice Tony-centric fics (gee, can you tell who I like?), and I recall there being some really nice Kate and Abby friendship moments. Another one I'll have to look up when I get home, because it's frustratingly not on my favorites list at FFnet. Bugger. So I'll be back with more!
