veleda_k asked about the last scene in Ghost Stories in the Van (appropriate considering Halloween is coming up!) and then asked about Original Sin from the psychic Neal AU, which prompted some rambling about Kate and EVEN MORE rambling about Neal, Keller, and the way the series approaches trauma and people's individual responses to it.

aqwt101 wanted to know what was going through Neal's head in All These Roads Lead Home.

trobadora wanted to know more about Natasha in Written in Blood and Bone, which I was more than happy to talk about (I have many thoughts on Natasha in that story!).

Over on Tumblr, rosweldrmr wanted to know more about Rodney's hallucinations in the snow from The Killing Frost.

...is "The Killing Frost" meant to reference the mild early frost that kills ones tomatoes? It seems to reference a rather serious fic for that...

Yeah, although I was mostly going for the scary sound of it rather than its literal meaning. I think for me it has slightly more serious connotations due to having grown up living a semi-subsistence lifestyle in rural Alaska -- the first real frost of the year is the one that kills everything and is preceded by a lot of scrambling around getting the garden in and battening down the hatches because seven months of winter is coming -- but it's still not THAT terrifying. Mostly I just needed a title and had gotten to the point of desperation.

That makes sense! My main association is a terrible song, so it just caught me off guard.

It's a valid question, certainly! I also tend to be title-impaired a lot of the time; either I have just the perfect title at the beginning, or I struggle and struggle and never quite achieve something I like (and this story was one of the latter sort, though I was reasonably okay with what I ended up with -- but it took awhile).

I default to poetry, song lyrics and random words, so I can't really talk.
