12 in 2008 banners

Side note: This is so cool -- animated Bayeux Tapestry. I'd heard about it before, but this is the first time I've watched it. So neat!

Anyway, I was dinking around making some banners for [livejournal.com profile] 12in2008, based on these ones by [livejournal.com profile] tacit_uk -- I really liked the idea of having a graphical format to check off each story as you do it. Since I'm writing original fiction for this, I made some with my own photos and some Atlantis-themed ones. All are fully snurchable if anyone wants them.

If you want any of these, feel free, but please save them to your hard drive and re-upload to your own web space or a service like Photobucket, to preserve my bandwidth.

General SGA banner. The idea is that you check off each image as you complete each story, like so:

This one is perhaps not the most practical banner ever, but it's mostly for the pretties. (That's Teyla's face from Vengeance.)

I also made an SG-1 banner "blank" because I loved this DHD image from this site, but I don't really have a bunch of SG-1 cast pictures lying around. Anyone is welcome to glom onto it and fill in their own pictures; I can upload a layered version if anyone is interested.

And then there are the ones with my original photos in them. I made some banners:

EDIT: The layered Photoshop file of the SG-1 blank can be downloaded here. (Right-click, save as.)

EDIT2: I also had some wallpapers here that I'd made with my own photos, but I took them down because, after staring at them for desktop wallpaper for just two days, I'm ready to spork my own eyes out, so I'm trying some different things to make them less intrusive and easier to look at.

Thank you!

You can, you know! All you have to do is commit to finishing 12 pieces of SOME length. I'm using it as a springboard to my original writing, but most people seem to be doing fanfic. And the length you commit to finishing can be as short as you want, even if it's only 200 words.
