Fandom Stocking! ... and other things

My Fandom Stocking is awesome; it is here if you want to enjoy all the goodies too! Thank you SO much to everyone for all your wonderful presents! I got fic, art, icons, recs, greetings and even a VID!!! You guys are the best. Seriously. ♥

As for the various gifts that I made for other people, I'll repost them here over the next couple of weeks.

Diana Squeefest is still ongoing! (Also on DW.) I really need to go participate more ...

Random other stuff: I stumbled across Enneagram personality types yesterday. Naturally this resulted in me trying to map various sets of characters onto it, mine and other people's -- including the White Collar ones. Peter is obviously a 1; Mozzie is a 5; Neal is probably a 4, which is amusingly apt because an emotionally healthy Type 4 picks up characteristics of a Type 1.

Speaking of White Collar, remember the Culper spy ring episode from season four? There is going to be a TV series about the Culper Spies. (Trailer here - ETA: new trailer link since the other one didn't work!) I am unsure how I feel about this. I love historical fiction and spy/intrigue stuff, and I'm even currently interested in the American Revolution period, so you'd think this would be right up my alley ... but anything mainstream and American-made dealing with that time period is always so terribly, terribly caricatured. It might turn out to be more nuanced than it looks, but based on the trailer I'm pretty much getting the usual sense of ~evil British~ and noble rebels, and I'm just not interested in that.

Yay, Enneagram! It's astonishingly useful sometimes. I'm glad you're reading up on it on a good site--there are some sites and books that are kinda awful.

Now I'm trying to decide if Neal feels like a 4 to me, but I don't tend to be great at typing people and I haven't seen White Collar in so long that my sense of him is pretty faded. *g*

(Mind you, I know plenty of 4s who don't make me think, "oh, they're the same type as me!" Often it turns out they're the other subtype--I'm a 4 with a very strong 5-wing and hardly any 3 to speak of, and the wing/strength of the wing can make a HUGE amount of difference!)

If Neal is a 4, I think he's probably a very strong 3-wing. Although he does like taking things apart to see what makes them go, which is a strong 5 trait. (And some people are pretty evenly split between the possible wings.) I keep thinking I remember a bit of a 7 vibe from him, too.

...of course, TV characters are probably the most prone to being inconsistent, what with so many different writers. ^^;

(And I'm even fuzzier on my memory of the sense I get from Elizabeth, so this could be very off base, but my first suspicion would be that she's a 6. All types have a huge array of people, but I think that may be most true with 6s.)

AMC has a reputation to uphold when it comes to innovative television, so here's hoping they got Turn right.

I love the Enneagram. :D I wrote a series of posts on SGA characters and the Enneagram a few years back.

(Seconding [personal profile] umadoshi that the Enneagram Institute is an excellent source.)
