Spoiler alert!
saphirablue warns of uncut Season Five spoiler pictures on
whitecollar_tv.
This is probably a good time to mention that I'm in Total Spoiler Lockdown, avoiding spoilery comms, Tumblr and so forth. All my flistees have been great so far about cutting/warning for spoilers; please continue to be awesome. :)
I did watch Agents of SHIELD on Tuesday. It wasn't mindblowing TV but was definitely fun enough to watch again. I wish I found the cast more engaging (in particular, I find Ward about as fascinating as a damp dish towel), but maybe they'll hook me more with repeated exposure. In quite a few ways, this show makes me think of Torchwood Lite - same general idea (right down to the team leader being a spinoff recurring character from a more popular franchise) but not as dark or as risk-taking. However, it's definitely entertaining and I certainly didn't feel like it was a waste of an hour.
I love that they actually came up with a way to bring Coulson back that I hadn't seen mentioned in ANY of the "Coulson is alive!" speculation post-movie. NICELY PLAYED. I also hope it'll help him avoid Jack Harkness syndrome, i.e. where an interesting, quirky minor character becomes much less interesting and loses most of their quirk as a main character.
Also ... hello, Book! :D If this show turns into a Whedonverse cameopalooza, I will not object AT ALL. :D
It was a little disconcerting to watch this right after finishing my superhero story, which is essentially about that universe's version of SHIELD. I'm glad I managed to finish and post it first! (Also, thank you so much for your comments - I love them and I WILL answer them soon, I swear ...)

Spoilers hate me and like to hunt me down. Sure, sometimes it's because I was careless or because I clicked on something I knew I shouldn't. But sometimes spoilers leap out of nowhere and attack me. Like the time I googled a character's name to make sure I was spelling it right, and got hit with the single biggest spoiler for that character.
Uh, sorry. I have deep spoilers angst.
I'm really hoping Agents of SHIELD picks up and deepens its characters. Also, it's kind of amuses me that your story actually addressed so many the things I hope Agents of SHIELD will address and fear it will not.

Awwww, thank you! :) (Absolutely loved your comment on the story, by the way, as usual - I will get comments answered eventually!) ... and yes, I am worried that it won't, either. I think my biggest concern about SHIELD (the show) going forward - well, other than finding a lot of the cast boring so far - is that it's not going to interrogate the very creepy aspects of its premise. I think I have more (tentative) confidence in Whedon than a lot of other creators to at least engage somewhat with the creepy big-brothery aspects of SHIELD - I'm not on the Whedon fan train, but I DO think that he has a decent track record of undermining the Designated Heroes trope.
