Lost

Yay, they killed Shannon! Er ... that came out wrong. I mean, yay, they didn't kill Sawyer, Michael, Jin or Sayid, all of whom were dangerously close to killage here. Right now, for me, the two expendable characters are ... er, I mean, WERE, Shannon and Charlie. Sadly, I've sort of been rooting for Charlie to get offed because he annoys me. I used to like him in the beginning, but gads, he's turned into such a whiner. But I'll settle for losing Shannon instead.

We kinda almost got some h/c with the hurt Sawyer and all of that. At least now he's back where there's a doctor.

And WHAT is up with the whispering?!

Actually I'm not sure if Sayid's my favorite anymore ... I still like him a lot and wish they'd give him more to do (which actually seems quite likely now) but Sawyer is where the interesting character development has been taking place. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'd quit watching if either of them died (possibly if BOTH of them died ...) but I do think that losing Sawyer in particular would kill a lot of my interest in the show -- not even so much because he's nice to look at, but because he's one of the few really unpredictable characters (along with Locke) ... in any given situation, he could go any direction from absolute bastard to hero. He's a loose cannon and it makes him interesting to watch.

The character relationships have been generally disappointing to me on that show. They started out with so much potential but really, very few of the characters have formed meaningful, distinct relationships ... they're all learning to pull together, in general, but as far as individual friendships, that's kinda been given the short end of the stick. They keep shuffling the character groupings -- just when I start grooving on one set, they get shuffled and go off with different people ... aargh!
