Oh dear, too adorable

The official MGM Stargate website has a little game (not sure how to link to it directly, but from the main page, click on "Games") where you try to navigate the characters through a bunch of Wraith to capture the Doppelganger. So far, I just keep getting my cute little team avatars killed, though. (But the splash screen that you get when you die is definitely worth seeing. Yes, I am that shallow. *g*)

Needless to say, the game is spoilery for "Doppelganger".

ETA: Made it all the way to level three that time!

Heeee! I just found it, actually! Click on "stills" (next to "games") and it's in the photos for episode 4. (I am steadfastly not looking at the ones for ep 5, because if the Doppelganger ones are that spoilery, then I don't want to see ...!)

They have episode 5 stills up already?? What? No! No fair! Must stay away from the clicking...!

Hee~! I beat the game! And was having way too much fun with the adorableness that is "protect McKay at any cost". Aww. ♥

Yeah, I beat it too! I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a different cute splash screen as a reward. "Losing is better" is probably NOT the message they're trying to send ...!

But yeah, so cute! Did you just have Teyla and Ronon, or did you have Sheppard too? He's in the list of characters for the game, but didn't seem to be available in the game itself...

I know~! A cute splash screen of happy teamy goodness where everyone was alive! That would have been very rewarding. *nods*

Just Conan & Xena on my end too. The only Sheppard around was the Doppelganger...

But he IS! Except it was hard to crop the image so you can really see what's going on without the words being in his crotch. XD I wish the picture was a little bigger to begin with.

I guess they obviously had a camera up there earlier, so they were still filming from above when they did the resuscitation scene. As with the scene that your icon is from, I can't help wishing we'd gotten to see it from those other angles in the show ...! But that's just ungracious of me. *g*

Rodney should NOT be so irresistible when he's dead! Or dying. Or unconscious. Or just generally floppy.

That said, I am not sure I agree with wanting to see this angle on the show. I thought the ones they did use were much more intimate.

*snort* I can actually see him saying that too ... they've definitely got their finger on the pulse (so to speak) of what the fangirls want!

...it's really not good when you're playing a game hoping to die just to get the cute my-char-is-dead shot! (...actually in FF8 I remember I kept having Zell died, because he would flop over curled up on his side in this adorable way. And my brother has informed me that in one of the MGS games if you're on radio link when you die your teammates are screaming your name...ummm the bro knows how to get me interested in games waaaay too well ^^;;;)

In other news, I can't figure that game out! I mean I can make it to the third level, but I can't figure out how to stop my Teyla & Ronon from getting eaten! The 'protect McKay' thing is squee though (he's the king!)

Yeah, I don't think they picked the best screens to give people incentive to win the game, and not lose it.

Must see if I can get Husband to play it....

Yeah, I found that game a few days ago (got an update email from MGM with a link to it - oh and a link to a page on MGM's website where you can download a McKay voicemail message for your mobile! :D) and it led me to do a bad thing....

I played it yesterday - and i felt terribly guilty when the wraith killed mini-Teyla lol.
Everybody is right thou: when you fail, that screen is cute in that 'omg Rodney is dead' way.... does that even make sense?

The very first thing I did was kill Teyla ... I couldn't figure out how to attack at first, so I just kinda thrashed around until the Wraith ate her. Oops...

That is so cool... and addictive. I was so close last time. Dang it!

I know! They should at least keep them archived somewhere; I understand there have been other games, but this is the first time I've found out about them, so this is the only one I've seen.

I've generally heard "splash screen" used to refer to the startup screen that you get when you launch an application (for those that still have them) ... and a "splash page" in comics is a big full-page spread, usually with no words -- so I'm kinda using it as a hybrid between the two in this case.

I did it! I made it to the end, but I got killed a few times along the way!! And yeah, what's with the losing pic being sooo good and the winning one not anything to write home about?!!

And now I'm gonna go play it again 'cos it's addictive and just so very cute!!!

Thanks for the link...I think. Last night I spent way to much time playing the game, but in the end I did win.

And you are right - there is something really wrong when the "game over" picture is more appealing than the "Congrats you won" picture. That or it says a lot about us that we like the dead Rodney picture so more.
