Carnivale question
Well, actually a question/random musing for those of you who've seen both Carnivale and White Collar (which I'm pretty sure is 100% of the part of my flist who've seen Carnivale *g*).
I'm curious if anyone else thought that Jonesy seemed a lot more Peter-like after Ben healed him, in terms of his general body language and everything.
It's not something I noticed so much when I was watching the first time, but now that I'm going back and rewatching scenes, comparing Jonesy in the first few episodes to Jonesy in the last couple, there is just something about him that reminds me so much more of Peter than he does in the early episodes. I guess that the way it comes across to me is that in the first few episodes he's almost unrecognizable as the same actor who plays Peter -- he vanishes into the role that much -- but in the last few, he's very evidently the same actor. And I guess part of it could just be that I got used to him, except that I still see him that way in the early episodes ...
He's so much happier, and more emotionally centered -- so much closer to the same mental place where Peter is, as opposed to the fairly isolated, unhappy person that he is in the earlier episodes. And it makes him much more Peter-like in overall affect, at least to me.
(I suppose one thing contributing to this impression, too, is that his body language towards Ben, post-healing, is very Peter-with-Neal -- I can't be the only one who noticed this, right? The little casual touches ... there's even a headtilt thing that Peter does with Neal -- it's sort of hard to describe, but for example in the last Peter + Neal scene in WC 3x16, he does it. And I noticed him doing it with Ben at least once.)
Did anyone else notice any of this, or is it just me?
